An Introduction to Asperger's Syndrome: A journey from diagnosis to discovery, exploring real life stories and practical solutions

Great fast read, informative
This book was really good in helping me better understand my son (16) he has recently been diagnosed with high functioning Aspergers (autism). He is socially awkward, he can make friends but cannot keep them. One the outside, observing him you wouldn’t think a thing was wrong.I really liked the stories in the back of the book. It gives me hope for his future. He has low self esteem and what I would give for him to just have one good friend. I hope to share this info with him as he is in denial that he has this diagnose’. It’s a lot for a teenager to digest. He is a amazing leader and not a great follower. One of the stories touched on this, empowering their strengths. There is so much to life besides having a amazing social life. My son desperately wants friends, he tries, and fails. Focusing on things he can control may be the key to his internal success!

Help to Understand Asperger's Syndrome.
If you know anyone who has Asperger's Syndrome, this is a must-read. The book is informative and delves into the traits and idiosyncronies of patients, and gives some insight into how best to live with an "Aspie".

Well written
Easy to read. Had some good encouragement. Was able to identify with the author and the stories at the end. A good reminder that autism and Asperger's are on a spectrum scale.

This book is a must read. It is kind, gentle and most of all REAL!
My husband introduced me to this book as we both agreed that he had aspergers. I wanted to understand all that I could so that our lives would go a little smoother since many of his actions, ways of expressing himself and manner of doing things were frustrating to me. One thing I knew for sure was that he is a wonderful man but an enigma that I needed to understand. This book not only gave me what I needed but I got a bonus! Guess who else has aspergers? Yes you guessed it. I also have ADD (learned that 17 years ago) which I knew and learned to live with. Now I have the other piece of the puzzle that makes my life and my life with my wonderful husband that much richer.
