It does the job of beautifully lighting an area, the 3M tape on the back if you clean the area your applying it to correctly it will stick really well. It does not seem to get too hot either or have any lighting flickers. Now to the bad, It does have issues with some colors and can be finicky with the built in controller. I have a hard time with some colors and it also seems to be lacking some colors as simple as plain old white it does not seem to have, I really wish it had a remote because the controller has to basically stick out somewhere for you to control it, also switching between modes, changing color and brightness can get very annoying where a remote would be so simple. Another big issue I am finding is the lack of colors during the different modes, each mode just does a color cycle where it would be nice for instance if you could have it breathe a particular color but instead it just cycles the colors. Overall it still does a great job of lighting but with annoying controls, lack of colors, lack of customization on the modes and to a degree a lack of brightness (but that is attributed to the USB power of 5v) I have to say it's just alright, gets the job done but I would like to explore maybe some different options with preferably a remote.

EDIT: It's been about a year since I've purchased this product. The USB plug is failing. I have to wiggle it around to get a good connection, and any bump or movement of the cable disconnects the USB and turns of the strip. I'll cut off the USB plug and replace it within the next few days since the LEDs themselves are still working beautifully. This is just a simple case of "you get what you pay for." They worked flawlessly for about a year, but now they're causing issues.I'll keep the initial review below.=====I was pretty skeptical at first, considering the low price and a company I don't recognize. But those fears were unfounded! This is a really great RGB LED strip! I personally use it for desktop backlighting, as looking at a bright monitor in a dark room strains my eyes. This product has great vivid colors (like 20 of them!), multiple levels of brightness (8 I think), and even a really nice white light mode, which actually looks pretty darn good! The strip retains your color/settings even after being powered off, eliminating the need to screw around with it too much. It does not have a remote, and instead uses a small controller on the end of the strip. 4 stars due to a very finicky mini controller. Had to keep unplugging from USB port on monitor to get it just right. Would cycle through a few colors and then get stuck on one and just flickered constantly. After playing with the buttons for a quite a while, I was finally to get the color I desired. Also, the adhesive only held up for about 30 minutes and then fell off, even though I wiped the surface with rubbing alcohol prior to install.Overall, still happy with the product at the given price.

I ordered one set and it was fautly but it must have just been that set because the seller made it right and sent a new very much functioning set to me and it has worked out very well. I love how many light options you have, there are tons of different colors and variable shades of those colors, intensities and patterns as well as just a standard white if that is what your looking for. I used my set to line the edge of my glass entertainment center so the glass has a glowing effect for our items displayed on the glass shelves and looks very cool.

So these are marketed to go on the back of your tv but they don't have corner pieces or anything and they aren't flexible enough to just curve around the corners so you have to bend the corner part and then the adhesive on that part won't stick to the tv. You'd be better off buying 4 short strips and connectors for them so that you can get around this corner issue.

I like this but it needs a remote. There is a tiny button on the strip it's self so if you want to turn it off and on you have to find the button. So if you place the lights behind something (like a TV shelf) then it can make things quite difficult. You get what you pay for.

I've been using them for back lighting behind my desktop for some months now and have had no problems with them. Not the brightest things in the world, but as long as you aren't using them for serious lighting they should be fine.

These lights were long enough to run all the way across the top and halfway down both ends of a Samsung 60" TV. Had a little problem getting them to stay attached the first night. Reapplied them and secured with clear packing tape. Problem solved. Love the soft light it produces behind the screen.
