Jeni’s “takes the cake” with this flavour! I absolutely LOVE it! 😍 As for all of the reviews saying that it’s too sweet- yes, I can see that it may be too sweet for some people. I find it a bit sweet also, but I don’t eat much at a time so I’m fine with that. And yes, I can see that there are a few too many sprinkles for some as well. Sometimes I’m ok with it sometimes I just can’t. 😂 As for the ‘weird aftertaste’ of the cake itself - I think most people don’t realize that it’s gluten free cake that uses sorghum flour as one of the ingredients. As someone who is not able to eat gluten I am grateful to be able to find fun cake/bakery flavours (Gooey Butter Cake, Wedding Cake and Cookies and Cream are also gluten free, just to name a few) that I can eat. I can’t think of another ice cream company that cares enough to create something for the many of us who can’t have gluten and Jeni’s has gone out of the way to create at least 31 on top of their many other flavours. I hope that Jeni’s continues! I hope this review helps explain the taste that some people have been having a hard time identifying. ;)

I love Jenni's brand of ice cream. So unique and creative with the flavors, but it's so gosh darn expensive!

When I first tried Jenni’s, in was like .. “oh.. my .. word . Ben and Jerry’s has nothing on Jenni’s . Other than they have the BEST cookie dough ice cream on the planet

We've been fans of Jeni's ice cream for years. Jeni's offers so many delicious varieties with sincere devotion to top shelf quality. The sweet cream biscuits and peach jam is our favorite.... so far.That being said, it was surprising that we both felt as of this is a flavor we could probably pass on going forward. The quality remains top shelf. Not only are there genuine birthday cake sprinkles in the ice cream, but there are huge chunks of cake and frosting. This provides a wonderful symphony of textures. But sometimes the symphony is a little out of tune. We found some of the texture to be a little bit awkward but we weren't able to place whether it was the sprinkles or maybe some of the cake. We also felt that this was the first time we've had what might be a little bit too sweet for an ice cream from Jeni's. As a reminder, our favorite so far is the sweet cream biscuits and peach jamThey do such a wonderful job of making sure that the flavors are balanced, it was a bit disappointing that we both felt it a bit too sweet. It's the kind of sweetness that's perfect for an 8 year old, but not really one that an adult would enjoy.So it's a little sweeter than expected now granted it is birthday cake flavored so it's expected to have some sweetness to it but it just seemed a bit much. End result was that the paint lasted several days longer than it normally does, however it's still gone. Lol. It goes to show that if you use high quality ingredients and real mix-ins, even when the taste doesn't quite need expectations you're still going to get at least four star ratings

This stuff is insanely good. And, I do mean insanely good! If I buy a pint in the afternoon, it is gone by nightfall. The taste is absolutely dreamy. That's why I don't buy it very often. It is simply the best ice cream I have ever had! There are many amazing flavors, and whatever is mixed in is just right. The cake/frosting/ice-cream ratio is simply perfect, and it tastes so luscious and good! My words are not doing it justice. You just have to try it! If you want to reward yourself, this is the way to go. This ice-cream is there for you. It's so good. I wish I had some right now. I really wish I had some right now.

Pretty tasty overall! The buttercream flavor is rich and sweet, and it really does remind you of classic birthday cake. It’s creamy and smooth like all of Jeni’s ice creams, though it might be a bit too sweet for some. Still, a fun treat for special occasions!
