Well they definitely work! Make sure you know what you’re catching though. They catch male moths of several species. It took me a while to realize that the moths I was catching were not clothing moths but were Indian meal moths coming in from outside, and probably specifically looking for my very alluringly scented traps because there was nothing nearby for them to eat. As soon as I patched up a hole in my closet floor, they stopped showing up on the traps. Anyway, the traps do work as intended!

If I could give this product 10 stars I would. For well over a year I have been battling moths, anyone who's been here knows how awful this can be. I keep buying traps making sure that they are over four star reviewed, reading the reviews carefully, but none of them have captured moths. It's been so frustrating having clothing mods because I've had to put all of my sweaters in big giant plastic storage containers so that they do not get eaten. We have a wool rug which is a nightmare and I have no place to store it while I'm trying to get rid of the moths. Basically I'm starting to lose it. I'm tired of them flying across my face at night and somehow disappearing instantly and I never am able to find them. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them! I wanna say that these are the first traps that I have bought in over a year and a half that have actually caught anything. I put one trap out in an area that I didn't think it would get any action in but I thought I would try and the next morning I had three dead moths in it! These traps work for clothing moths. I've set them out in my office and my husband's office, places that I also did not think had any kind of moth action and I've caught in just under 24 hours one moth in each area. I feel like these are going to work and they claim to work for 90 days which is a lot better than the 30 day traps I was using before. I'm very pleased with these and I will report back if they do not take care of the problem or do not catch any more moths but I'm very happy so far

If you've ever dealt with clothes moths, you know they're a total nightmare to eliminate. While this product won't solve all your problems, it helps you gauge the extent of your infestation and pinpoint areas with more activity. I tried a few brands and moved them around; this one consistently captured more moths. It's super easy to set up. Leave it long enough to catch the male moths and gain some control over the infestation. Remember, this is just one step in the whole process, but it works well.

I bought several different brands of Closet Moth Traps to make sure that I had a decent chance of getting a quality product. I purchased: MaxGuard, Ecotastic, Trap-A-Pest, and Dr Killigan’s I even got a pantry moth trap as well, to verify if I had any of those. Amongst 7 rooms (2 bedrooms, 2 closets and 3 bathrooms) I put multiple brands in each room, with each brand in at least 4 different rooms. For 3 months I’d check every trap once a week. Each trap had more moths than the week before (except for the pantry moth trap – the 4 of those I deployed caught one moth just by chance). The numbers of moths caught in each trap were surprising. No brand failed to catch at least 40 on at least one trap. So now I’m moth-free, right? Wrong. These traps lure in just the male moths. So if any male moth happens to mate with a female before being captured, there’s another fresh batch. I’ve been waging moth war for almost 2 years, and use other trap types as well (zappers, etc). There are a lot fewer of them flying around now, but I just can’t knock them out. I also kept some of each brand, and deployed them 1 year after purchase. NONE of those did well. Out of 16 traps, only 5 moths were caught. So I would recommend buying a new batch of traps every 6 months – deploying half right away, and the other half in 3 months. I checked all boxes for a manufacturing date. None had any on the outside. Dr. Killigan’s had one on the inside flap. Dr. Killigan’s also stated they would be good up to 3 years after manufacture (lies). [EDIT] On my re-order of MaxGuard, I see they are now printing an expiration date on the individual foil packet. Roughly 3 years from the date of receipt. [/EDIT] Recommendations: They are all effective if used right away. Buy the one whose price or design you like. My design preference is MaxGuard and Dr. Killigan’s. If you are not having success, maybe your have different kinds of moths. Or you have expired traps. Hints on use for all brands: Write the date on it before you expose the glue. Bend the cardboard at least a little on the creases before exposing the glue – bending it afterward can cause sticky fingers. When pulling the paper off of the glue, start at one corner and firmly pull towards the opposite corner. Pulling from the center of the top makes it more difficult.

Simple to assemble and convenient to hang. These traps work well and for a long time until full of moths! Well worth the price.

They work GREAT!! I have quite the infestation in one closet and boy do these collect the little buggers! I'll be getting more until they are all gone. Very happy with this!

I have used several different brands of clothes moth traps, all with pretty good results but i thought I would try Maxguard to see how it compares. I set up all 14 traps around the house. After weeks, not one moth has been caught. I set up two other brands of traps at the same time and, even a couple right next to the Maxguard, they all caught moths. I certainly would not waste any money on Maxguard again.
