Good fit! Take your time and measure plus use blue glue!
Had a 1-1/2 inch santee Drain break at the tee. Was trying to avoid cutting in to the cabinet and wall to replace, This is a quick resolution to a costly repair. Take your time and dry fit the adapter first and cut off any excess so that the middle ring gets as flush as possible to the broken fitting. Also try and cut off any broken pvc on the pipe your fitting this adapter inside so that it sits flush against it and won’t create a leaking point. If it’s an old pipe use a little primer to clean out any residue and apply plenty of blue glue inside the broken pipe as well as around the fitting end you will be sliding in. Patience is a virtue here so take your time as I stated get all your measurements and cuts done prior to gluing because you’re only gonna get one chance at this so make it count

Fit and finish
I've yet to use this fitting but I did do a dry run with a new 1 1/2" Sched 40 PVC pipe. After much persuasion I did manage to insert the adapter half way. The fit , to put it mildly, was extremely tight. It leads me to believe that the fittings O/D was either a few thousandths too large or a new pipe's I/D was a few thousandths too small. As I stated, with a little persuasion it will probably fit but I'm not sure there will be room for the PVC solvent. Since I'll be using the fitting on "old" Schedule 40 PVC pipe I'm hoping the tolerances are not that tight and the fitting will slip on easily, otherwise I may have to sand the surface of the fitting. I'll let you know when I complete the job.

Saved me from a costly fix
My house I just bought had plumbing roughed in for a bathroom in the basement. Unfortunately, sometime over the years the 1 1/2” stub was broken off at the concrete level. I was able to trim some length off of this fitting and use it to extend the stub out again and tie in the s-trap for my pedestal sink. It fit perfectly inside the 1 1/2” PVC. Over-priced for a single fitting but definitely better than breaking out my slab and re-plumbing.

They worked
Fit was a little loose but with good assembly practices they are tight and in service!

When a Standard Coupling Won't Work
Exactly what I needed to extend out my sump pump drain pipe that was broken off right the edge where it came out of the concrete. A standard coupler would not work. I went to every hardware store in my city trying to find this and no one had it...much less knew what I was asking for. Price is definitely on the higher side, but it was worth it to put an end to my search. (Photo attached of the item was not inserted all the way into the pipe, but fit perfectly once I pushed it in.)
