Awesome LEGO Ideas set, truly a must have for any Space fan
As an AFOL I followed this kit on LEGO CUUSCO/Ideas because of the theme, A combination of the Space sets (which were my favorite) of my youth and Mech creations I made then from them. Although my youthful designs were never this detailed or "cool". When first saw this model on Ideas it was love at first sight, I put my vote in, and hoped it would get to 10K, be picked by Lego and go into production. I was so glad that it did make it, only to be dashed when I missed out on the first production run. But I wasn't to be denied, I got my hands on one from the second run. After clicking the submit order button I could hardly wait the 2 Prime shipping days, And I must say I was not disappointed, the wait was worth it. The box itself is very cool, display worthy in it's own right. But the real treasure is what's inside, the instruction book, which includes the story behind the set, and the 4 bags of parts that are soon to be a brilliant model. The build was very enjoyable, employing several non-traditional techniques, but could be considered tedious by some. This is definitely not a "kid friendly" build. It took me a couple hours to build, what with all the parts that are for there for the details. Plus the bonus of classic Space minifigures in previously unreleased green and a cute "Turtle Mech". The finish model is amazing in it's detail and is very poseable. I would say that it's very playable though as it is delicate due to the level of detail on it. So in conclusion I would say that this model is the perfect blend of Sci-Fi with nostalgia from the classic Space sets. It has found a home on my display shelf where I can admire it. I even "change it's pose on occasion", okay play with, bringing back youthful memories. .

Really great set
Lego Ideas 21109 Exo Suit - 321 Pieces - Released Fall 2014 Exo Suit is a great LEGO set depicting a Aliens style exo-suit operated by a classic Green space mini figure. The set is a great build, but somewhat complex, more appropriate for a somewhat older lego fan than a young child. There are many greeblings (small pieces that add texture rather than function), so it doesn't make a great play piece. If your child plays with the set a lot expect to be repairing small pieces that fall off on a regular basis. That said, this set would make an amazing subject for stop-motion lego video, as it has wonderful articulation and possibility for a lot of creativity and expression. In addition to the Exo Suit mech itself, you also get a small "turtle" mech and a second green classic space mini figure (a female figure as well, which are relatively uncommon) As of this posting Jan 2015 this set is in regular production and is widely available for its MSRP of $34.99. While some Ideas set have had very limited production and became unavailable quickly after release (such as Mars Curiosity Rover), this set appears to be in heavy production. We expect it to remain available through 2016, after which it will likely go out of print. We expect it to go up in price substantially at that point as resellers fill the market, so if you like this set buy it before then.

A challenging and beautifully designed model
This is a fantastic kit. It looks great, it's packaged very nicely, has a great instruction book with flavor call outs to the various details on the model. The model is composed of very small components that piece together in interesting ways and give the model a very authentic feeling. The only bit of caution: the small pieces can he challenging to put together, particularly around the cockpit. I put this model together while recovering from a condition that made my fingers numb and clumsy and frequently had issues with the small pieces and can imagine children could be easily frustrated. Still, this is a beautiful model that rewards the challenges that building it presents and was (at the time of this review) very affordable compared to other Lego kits.

A Box of Nostalgic Sci-fi Fun!
If I had to describe this set in one word, it would be "fun." First of all this set will strike a nostalgic cord with anyone who grew up playing with LEGO's '80s space sets. For fans of the old primary colored LEGO astronaut minifigures, we get a NEW color in this set, green! Build the incredibly mobile and intricate looking Exo Suit, and your ready to take your TWO green astronauts (as well as their robot turtle) on an adventure! You can't decide what that adventure is? No problem! The included booklet (MUCH nicer than the average LEGO instruction booklet) provides a cool little back story for the characters in the set, in several languages! It is also worth noting that one of the astronaut figures is a female character, which is a cool thing for kids to see. WHY 4 STARS INSTEAD OF 5? Typically, the cost of most LEGO sets breaks down to about $0.10/piece. This set offers 321 pieces for $35, which isn't bad considering that it's a limited edition set in a nicer box with a nicer booklet and beloved minifigure designs that (other than in The Lego Movie) haven't been seen for 20 years. However, a LOT of the pieces included are very small pieces which leaves the set feeling more in the $25-30 price range. Do not let that price point deter you though! You will NOT find this set any lower than $34.99 and, once you assemble it, you WILL be happy you bought it!

so cool! but fragile....
LEGO IDEA sets are awesome and this one is no exception. It is a really clever throwback set to all the old space series LEGO used to have. You can see on the box how awesome it looks! 2 sweet minifigs and an awesome robot turtle!!!! One thing to note though is how fragile this thing is. It uses so many small, gray pieces you will hardly believe you can actually make this set with them, but you can. It looks so cool on display but my little one gets a little frustrated while playing with it cause little pieces will break off. Amazingly cool set from IDEAS, but be careful if you plan to play with it a lot.

Have been looking for a rare Space Lego Build for a friend of mine who is currently in hospital as he loves this kind of thing. Was well packed, and delivered in a couple of days. Very pleased with the service.

This is for my grandson who likes to craft little things without using special pieces. It worked out perfectly.
