The fit wasn’t the best but they work and now I somewhere to attach my wheels

I had 6’ metro shelves with 4” wheels and needed to break them down to 3’ each. I then needed to order additional wheels for each 3’ section so that all carts were mobile. Ordering additional wheels was no problem but the poles were lacking the insert into which to screw-in the wheel post. The wheel post is 3/8” 16 thread. This product fits into the 1” diameter post with a little play. Easy to fix with silicone adhesive. The bright note is the post screws into the insert perfectly. I bought several products before landing on this one.

What I got is not exactly the same as what’s shown in the product description but it’s perfect for what I need it for. So I have this wire shelf and its wheels but somehow there is no thread in the poles to screw the wheels in. I looked all over online trying to fix it and decided to give it a try with this product. IT TURNED OUT PERFECT!!! Hard to believe it’s exactly the size I needed for both the poles and the wheels!!!

Good for stationary shelving. Be careful if converting to a mobile shelf unit. The product details does not state the size of the bolt thread. The dimensions of the bolt is ~3/8" > M8, so if you are converting to wheels/casters instead of bolt levelers make sure the wheels have a 3/8" size bolt. This bolt size does not match the M8 threaded parts on a "Sandusky mobile shelves" or "AmazonBasics 4-Shelf Shelving Unit on Wheels". So be careful to get matching parts. (The outside dimension of the inserts does fit into the post without any problems.) I would have preferred an M6 thread like my Sandusky and AmazonBasics shelves have. Hence I could reconfigure the shelves without worrying about the parts being used.

These inserts have a specific size. These don’t fit correctly. They will fall off every time you need to change the shelves. Do not buy.

Like the other reviewers said, these parts aren't what were pictured in the photo on Amazon, and they didn't fit. However, we used a torch to heat up the metal shelves where they were to fit in to and then hammered them right in. After we tried that method, it went quickly and they work perfectly. The casters (pack of 4 by the metal shelves) from Home Depot screwed right in.

Now I have to be blunt- I wanted it for the threaded inserts and consider the caps a bonus, while the bolts just ended up in my bolt collection. I had bought some 6' high units that rolled around for my church's meal program to store bulk drinks that are donated to us. I didn't need the full height on one, so I cut some of the posts down, used these inserts and attached castors to make serving carts... easy peasy and worked great. Very happy with the quality and ease of use.

This is exactly what I needed to be able to put casters on my ULine rack, fits perfectly and now I’m rolling!
