Jessica Anya Blau has become one of my favorite writers. After, THE SUMMER OF NAKED SWIM PARTIES, THE WONDER BREAD SUMMER and DRINKING CLOSER TO HOME, I didn't think she could top herself, but Lexie James -- the protagonist in her most recent, fast-paced novel, THE TROUBLE WITH LEXIE -- is a heroine I attached myself to from the opening pages. Blau's beautifully descriptive language made me feel like I was part of the story, helping me relate to situations that I haven't even experienced. Hilarious and entertaining at each turn of the page, THE TROUBLE WITH LEXIE will tug at your funny bone and your heart. Do yourself a favor, and give it a read; you can thank me later.

This book was not what I expected. It was dark, raw, honest, shocking, and very funny. It is certainly not for the clutch your pearls and gasp crowd, which is the only reason I'd think there are any reviews under four and five stars here. I'm very impressed with how the author crafted the story. Even though elements were predictable, how they came to fruition was very much the opposite. I will be highly recommending this book to every voracious reader I know.

In no way had Lexie risen above the circumstances that she came from. She continued to make one bad decision after another with no regard to whom she might be hurting, EXACTLY as she portrayed her mother. Her character was 100% unlikeable. By the end of the book I was hoping she would not land on her feet because her behavior was ridiculous. Very disappointing. I loved the other two novels by this author.

This Book was okay! I did not care for the writing style. Typical girl gets snow job from her male lover!!

The book was good until toward the end. It followed a very predictable path but ended in a semi-ridiculous fashion that was just a bit sad and weird.

This book was very smutty - I threw it in the trash after the first few chapters. I didn’t want anyone to see that book in my house.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it
