It's locked. It can't open automatically. It own low power alert.

the door will open slightly when the lock is disengaged

Q: The pictures show a small round button to place the fob. how is it hidden then?

The button is just a marker you stick on the door, you dont have to stick it on. Just remember where the activator is located on the inside of the door.
