When installing the awning the manual that came with it was not real clear instructions with how to assemble. After assembling the awning I went to hand crank it to test the mechanism the arms of the awning while expanding both snapped and broke. Called the company that I purchased and spoke to a gentleman named Victor. He took the information and asked me to send pictures I did as he asked and he turned it over to the warranty department. They texted me within two days and informed me the that they would honor the replacement of the two arms without charge and would send an updated instruction manual and a video for assembling the awning. I recommend buying this product from this company. 1. It is very sturdy and well-made. 2. Their customer service went over and above rectifying our situation.

Do not buy from this company period. Several pieces were badly damaged and they told me they would get right back to me when I called them and they never got back to me. I had to get back to them. We ended up finally getting it put together on our own even with the bent and wrong parts and no useful instructions whatsoever. The instructions were the worst I've ever seen. It would tell you to use this part number. But none of the parts were numbered, not one of them was numbered. The only thing that had any writing on it was the hardware parts and it was all in one bag and totally confusing! The instructions were so bad that when we got to the end. And we found this piece that we hadn't used. It was just in a little bag with a card saying that this has to go on at this point, but it does not say anything about that in the manual that you're using to put it together with so that part's not on ours. The roller is not right.The material didn't roll back up very good.When we finally got it done after 2 weeks. Yes it took us two weeks to put this thing together and get it mounted and it looks like crap!!!

I installed 2 of the 13’ shades that are powered next to each other over my deck. I installed both by myself without help although I would suggest getting help because they are awkward to lift. I am a mechanic and at times install accessories on vehicles that have pictures, symbols and arrows outlining the steps with no text so these instructions are decent except for the power motor installation into the end of the awning. Basically you get no instructions for that part but it’s very self explanatory as far as that goes you just use the adapters that fit your awning. This is a universal motor for several applications. The end stop adjustment instructions was very good. I was not expecting a universal motor when I ordered these. I thought the motor would be already installed. You get what you pay for and for the price these are very good. You basically get three boxes for each awning. One is the frame assembly, one is the universal motor and one is the fabric. If you are installing these into wood you must buy your own bolts. They only supply concrete anchors. This awning will not withstand hardly any type of wind, maybe 10mph at most. They are like a sail when extended completely and do move a little when a breeze blows. The remotes are very cheap feeling and buttons are not marked for directions so you will have to label them or remember what direction to push. They have brackets to hold them on a wall and the remotes do work very well so far. You can stop the awning anywhere along its movement and leave them partially extended if needed. I will update in the future if I have anything else to add.

The Aleko 20x10 awning is well built and easy to install by following the instructions. It does require 2 people for the installation. All hardware is included with the awning. All items received in a timely manner.

First off I had nothing but trouble putting this unit together and I will admit that I forgot 3 peices, but the insructions are very hard to understand. The canvas was NOT packaged right at all because it was all wringled very badly, but I thought that they would work there way out. Once that I got all the bugs worked out it is very nice and then my wife looked up and found about 20 pin holes in the canvas and it never rolled up right due to all the wringles that it had, the left side would track to the right and the right side would track to the left side when retracting the awning. So I had to take several pictures of everything and email them to aleko and now they are sening me a new top that I have to install myself.

Great shade. Easily installed. One person assembled and only needed help lifting into position. Extends easily.
