Our kids just won't listen to it. Yours might, though.
We bought this for our 2 year old and our 3 year old. Neither was interested in the least. While it's good quality in terms of audio tracks, and while the content seems well targeted and reasonable educational, I just had to give it one star based upon the fact that none of those things matter if our kids wont' listen to it. Your results might vary, so consider this a one-star review that is open to the higher results of others and that recognizes that kids can be very fickle.

Love the dvd's, but not the cd
We're new fans of the juno baby line of DVD's, both my 9 month old and my almost 7yr old think the are cute and we love to sing along and dance to the music on them. I thought this cd would be great for the car (we don't have a dvd player as I think talking or listening to music is far better then watching movies 24/7). Sadly though it didn't live up to the expectations I had for it. To be honest the characters voices on the DVD are fairly annoying however the cute story lines and catchy songs/images make up for it... with the cd all I was left with was the annoying voices. The songs really didn't do anything for us either or make us want to sing along. We'll stick with the dvd's and skip the cds.

Not to Bad for Original Music.
Ever since my best friend started having babies I have been surrounded by products revolving around music for babies and small children such as: The Wiggles, Little Einstein, and Baby Einstein. Neither of which, for me, are quite as educational as they should, but they are certainly high on the entertainment value (although, to be honest, I have actually learned a lot about classical music from Little Einstein believe it or not!), so in comes Juno Baby, I figured I'd give it a shot and see how the kids like it. I loved the idea of it being original music, as I think its great that someone is trying to make music that can help stimulate children's learning capabilities. The music itself is not bad, it is a very nice collection of instrumental pieces that stand alone by themselves okay, but fit together very well as a cohesive whole. Being played by and orchestra, the songs have a lot of variety and are not focused solely on string instruments, but include brass as well, which is refreshing compared to a lot of other baby music albums which seem to be a lot more simplistic instrumentally. I am not sure how the titles of the songs (including names such as Me Echo, I'll Cut My Hair, In the Ocean, Pop!, and Brocolli.) contribute to the songs, if they were inspired by these things? Cause if they're supposed to inspire those things, can't say I felt inspired to do any of them, j/k. ;PIn all seriousness though, the kids like the music, and it kept them interested and they love to dance to it, and really, isn't that what's important? I am now interested in checking out the rest of the Juno Baby products, but as of now, I cannot vouch for how this ties in to the whole product line, but if you are looking for some new interesting music for your children, this might be a good choice!God Bless ~Amy

Nice CD
This is a CD which is just music and no words. When you have a really young child I quote like this because you are not left singing some annoying kids song that drives you mad. Also to entertain my daughter I often make up songs about what I am doing so this provided the tune and I provide the words.

Superb, entertaining album designed to give kids appreciation of orchestral music
According to Wikipedia, the multi-award winning Juno series is now defunct. It's a pretty crowded marketplace and even the best products can get lost in the shuffle. This should not have been one of them. Fortunately, the music and DVDs are generally available and they're wonderfully produced with full orchestrations and excellent performances. This particular album contains a variety of songs from the videos performed by a fine cast. This album contains all original songs created for the series.Great music should be passed along to kids, and this is a way to introduce little ones to the elements of music.

Lukewarm for Tots
As a father of 6 boys, I may not be the right audience for the Juno Baby, so if my review doesn't reflect your tastes, please pass on it and read someone who is qualified. It's hard for me to place the audience for the CD, as it's obviously intended for a tiny tots audience. So what do kids want to hear? Catchy tunes they can hum and sing to themselves, right? For comparison, I offer two CDs that do the job for children: Smart Symphonies and Junior's Playtime Songs. VeggieTales is funny and infectious, though repeat-play can be annoying for adults. But Smart Symphonies is dance-able and has no annoyance factor in adults. I bring up these competitors because they illustrate what Juno Baby does not accomplish.I've heard Juno Baby through once, and the compositions are original, though quirky. They are not easy-listening. The arrangements are okay too, there is some variation on the tunes. As a whole, they are trite and not very memorable. They don't get as annoying as some of the VeggieTales songs, but they don't rise to the same level of memorable. That can be good if you don't want the tunes swimming in your head hours afterward, though that could be a factor if your tot is the repeat-play type. The lyrics have little to remember, and even less of a message. Reading through the booklet, there just doesn't seem to be much going on in the words. I don't know how "educational" it is.Most people don't buy music CDs unheard, so if you listen to samples and want to buy the CD, that's the best reason of all to make the purchase.
