Fluidmaster Universal Install/Uninstall Toilet Repair Tool

I needed to replace the Korky flush valve in my powder room toilet, and it sits in a corner. The lock nut on the bottom of the tank lived up to its name, it wouldn't budge. There wasn't enough room for me to leverage a wrench to get it off, and my fingers and hands aren't strong enough. This tool is compact and solid, and it took only 2 turns to loosen the lock nut enough to spin it off. The rest was a breeze. Every toolbox should have this. The price is right, and it works great.

A wondeerful tool by Fluidmaster at a wonderful price at Amazon! It worked on my TOTO Toilet. I need to replace the Fill Valve for my TOTO Toilet but had a hard time loosening the nut under the water tank. This tool worked wonder! I should thank both Fluidmaster and Amazon.

It is easy to use, fits well, and gentle on the plastic bolt.

For American Standard toilets that have recessed flush valve nuts, this tool is completely useless. The part of the tool that would fit the retaining nut is WAY too shallow to fit into that recess. I say almost because at least now I have an idea of what the nut size is so I can get a proper deep socket. UPDATE: Ok, now that I have calmed down, the American Standard Cadet 3 toilet that I have is not Fluidmaster's fault. The tool is probably fine for most standard, non-fancy toilets. I have simply been trying to avoid taking the tank off of the bowl, which is, according to American Standard customer service, required in order to replace the fill valve. Rating adjusted accordingly, apologies for the DIY homeowner rant above lol.

I can't truly review this tool will because when I attempted to use it, it didn't fit for my needs. I needed it to loosen the toilet tank bolts, but not only did it not fit the space, the tool also did not fit the bolts. It feels sturdy, but it's plastic, so it may not hold up well against metal bolts over time. I decided to keep it in case I replace another toilet - maybe it will work with that one. But for now, this was of no use to me.

This tool was a must for saving hundreds to possibly a thousand dollars and replacing both my fill valve, that was on way too tight and could not remove without this and then a couple weeks later had to take entire tank off of toilet and replace flush valve. Could not have done with normal wrench. Side note I dislike home installation people who overtighten things. Rule number one: don’t do it! But this tool made things easy. Replacement parts plus this tool $40-50 vs paying a plumber in this economy was a wise and economical move

This tool is inexpensive but quality grade plastic. The space between the wall and tub made it necessary to blind fit and remove the fill valve nut. This tool fit perfectly. Really happy with this tool.

This item worked for me very well and made the job of fixing toilets in my house a lot faster. The nuts underneath the toilet fill valves would be nearly impossible for me to take off to the point I almost shelled money to hire a contractor. Instead I opt to save my money and try to buy tools that can do the job for cheaper. Really happy with this and wish I knew about it earlier. Should have bought this along time ago. Definitely a good additional tool to have in the tool box. My only caution is to check the pattern of your nut before buying this one to see if it is compatible just in case. I was able to take off a nut that was stuck in under a minute where as without this, it took me almost a day.
