Love, but hard to get on + off!
I don’t pride myself in having much strength, but I had to get my dad to help me put it on. I was too excited at the beginning and put it on in the wrong side, so he had to take it off for me. In this way I do think that’s a good thing as it isn’t going to fall off or anything like that. The product is cute and I love it! It came with a little of dust on it and the box was slightly dented, but I couldn’t care less. I recommend this product!

This is an objectively bad product.
I really think elago should do the right thing and remove this product from the market. It is entirely without use. It does actually succeed at part of what I believe its intended purpose is. It does look cool. It does make the Apple Pencil more comfortable to hold and use (although those with smaller hands MAY find it too bulky). However. It is very difficult to put on or remove. VERY difficult. I could live with this if it was a matter of installing it and not taking it off again until it wears out or get damaged. However, once installed, it barely attaches magnetically to the charging point. Again, I could possibly live with this as I don't tend to store my pencil on told of the iPad as it too easily gets unintentionally knocked off and therefore I only put it there to charge. However, it doesn't charge with the case on. So, the only way to use this is to charge your pencil, fight the damn thing on, use until the battery depletes, then fight the damn thing off again to charge. I'm not kidding when I say it's really, really hard to get on and off. It's a complete failure as a product. Avoid.

Nice but
Charging is a bit of a problem for me. Holding the pencil is also a but weird due to the hole for double tapping as the sleeve would rotate and warp a little. Absolutely cute though. Still using the little rubber cap

Bit big but DOES charge … once on correctly …
Bought the yellow case in January 2022z. I have a gen 2 pencil attached to my 2018 11” iPad Pro … The first thing is slide your pencil with the flat edge NOT facing the cut out. It charges perfectly - if you run your finger along the top end of the case (the end near the eraser) you will feel some writing and you can just make out the word ‘magnetic’ … charges perfectly 👍🏾

Practicality and function
Whilst this product looks fun (which it is) it doesn’t function as well as it should. Unfortunately it doesn’t charge whilst in the sleeve, meaning every other day I have to remove the sleeve and charge it. When my pencil is in the sleeve the magnetic strength is too weak to charge. On a positive, it has a good quality feel and the exposed section makes it easier to switch between the different drawing settings.

Leaves sticky residue. Wouldn’t recommend
Loved it when I first got it. Looks lovely, it’s soft, and it felt like it really protected my pencil. I’ve had it for a while now though, and the plastic/silicone (not sure what material it is) has gone all sticky and horrible. If my pencil’s in it, it comes up with a slimy texture that takes a while to clean off. Wouldn’t recommend if you want something that lasts, even though it’s cheap you’ll have to continuously buy more

Correct fit?
Hi there, I don’t often write reviews but I thought I would address some of the concerns with this product because I think it may help a few people out. When connecting the Apple Pencil 2 to your device, you may have noticed that the side that connects, has the Apple symbol and the word ‘pencil’ written on it. On the ‘elate’ product it is important that you line up the case side, that says magnetic. It’s easy to identify as its on a side that has a cut out. If you look down through the case at the back (otherside from the nib) you will see that the silicon on this side is thinner and creates a strong connection. It’s quite easy to miss and many people myself included don’t realise that the product has a right fit. For me the double tap works fine and the product itself feels pleasant/ premium to the touch and I am confident that it will now survive the odd fall. Remember that silicon by its very nature is somewhat stretchy so i would advise that you take your time squeezing your pencil in and remember you can always ‘shrink’ it but putting the cover in hot water. Anyway I hope this helps a few people out.

Takes away all the benefits of owing a pencil worth £119.
Looks great, but that is where the positives stop. The skin reduces the magnetic hold of the pencil against the iPad, which can be excused as it is thicker and a barrier between the pencil and the iPad. However, the pencil only charges if you take the 'mock' rubber end off, as the pencil is not recognised with the full skin on, OK I thought it only needs charging every once in a while, but then comes the further issue of lost connectivity as the fact that when you attach the pencil to the iPad with the full skin on it is not recognised by the iPad. So eventually disconnects. To top it off the notch cut out to allow you to tap the flat part of the pencil to say switch between the pen and eraser even in the basic of apps like notes is so hit and miss it gets frustrating as you spend more time tap tap tapping the bloody thing than actually writing or rubbing out. JOKE. What a shame as it looks cool, but it takes away most of the functionality of a £119 stylus.
