It works! Make sure you move it periodically because birds are smart. The sensor works great. But… this thing is LOUD haha, it does what it’s supposed to do and keeps those pigeons away. It beats having massive bird crap on the deck. When I’m outside I turn it off.

Haven't seen a hawk since I put her up. I don't often see her head go around, but I know she must be looking around during the day because she usually doesn't stop for the night in the same spot. I can't believe how well this gal is protecting my chicken yard. <3

It turns out that the owl does work somewhat. The sensor will activate the owl, but it's inconsistent. It makes a squeal sound. It does scare my Blue Heeler away from my garden. I increased my rating from 3 to 4. Maybe 4.5 would be fair.The owl looks real, but the motion sensor does not work unless you wave your hand about a foot in front of its eyes. It also doesn't hoot. It makes a squeal. I bought this to scare rabbits away from my garden. That was a waste of money.

What a waste of money! First, we had to get it set up by putting sand in it then we had to buy a pole to set it on. We put it by our pool to chase away ducks. They are big poopers which stains the pool. It didn’t work. We moved it much closer and cut the pole so it was lower. Still doesn’t scare the ducks away. It’s just a piece of junk. So disappointing.

Our use was to place in a barn with translucent fiberglass ceiling panels to deter pests. The solar charging system is not able to keep the onboard battery charged. The unit really should be designed to automatically go into a low power/idle state when the battery gets low until such a time as the solar cell can recharge the battery. Once charged the unit should automatically turn back on as long as the switch is on. Instead, the unit simply quits working indefinitely until you recharge it with the wall charger. Perhaps in full sunlight in AZ the solar panel can scavenge enough energy to keep it running through the night, but in MN it does not work well even outside, let alone in a barn trying to recharge through the translucent ceiling panels. When operational, the motion sensor works well and the unit operates as advertised. The solar panel/power system could use a redesign.

The media could not be loaded.  Hoot owl is as described. It worked right out of the box, solar powered and battery charged but does come with a power cord. We’ve been using this owl for a week by the pool as shown in the video, and it’s working well! A real conversation piece and the mallard ducks have rarely flown in the pool. Except for one that got scared out as soon as the owl hooted, turning his head with eye lights flashing. Owl is highly motion sensitive. It’s been outside in hot weather, cold weather and a rain storm, all this crazy Texas weather and it’s still fine. The hoot is so realistic that sometimes the birds chirp back and mimic the sound. It seems pretty sturdy and surprisingly resilient. The switch is located under his ear inside the edge of his head with 3 settings: just motion or motion and hooting, or off. We just have it sitting by the pool right now but there are two ways to anchor it down which is a nice option. This works better than the plain owl we had on a post. With the two owls, the more the better.Update: 5/23/22, it’s been almost a whole year, left that owl outside by the pool, this whole time, neglected it, picked it up when the wind blew it over, etc, and it’s still working, takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

This owl peripheral vision works like a charm, it senses me really well but any small animal like a bird or squirrels it won't trigger the owl. One thing I have noticed is that the head sometimes will be backwards. I don't know if a squirrel takes the time rotate the owl's head backwards and laughs his nuts off because it won't activate when it sees a small animal. I guess at night it scares away raccoons and possums because I haven't seen them for 3 nights ago. It's an ok product, I kinda wish it would scare small animals as well.

Me encantó el búho espantaPAJAROS, lo pongo en mayúscula porque no puedo creer reseñas donde escriben que no sirve porque no espanta ardillas jajaja, llevo un mes usándolo y se acabaron los pájaros que destruían mi huerto, lo amo!!!Se carga con el sol pero también tiene conexión, yo lo cargo una vez a la semana y el resto con el sol se mantiene la batería. La verdad pensé que se vería feo pero noo, esta lindo. Cuando detecta movimientos de PÁJAROS mueve la cabeza, hace un ruido muy realista y prenden los ojos. Tiene la opción para quitar el sonido.Se recomienda moverlo cada tercer día de lugar para que los pájaros no se den cuenta que es falso.100% recomendable es lo máximo, busque por todas partes soluciones y ha sido lo único que me ha ayudado sin lastimar animalitos.

Los primeros días funciona bien, pero luego las palomas se acostumbran y ya no les causa ninguna impresión, además, después de unos días ya no se mueve ante cualquier estímulo, como que se pone lento

Es tal cual se muestra en las imágenes, funciona perfecto.
