Not bad!
The set is pretty decent if you already know what you're doing. It comes with 3 sizes (my photo with writing shows the widest size) and tubes of color. (2 black, 2 blue, 1 red, 1 purple and 1 green)Pros:- Very simple set up.- Writes well when enough pressure is applied.- Pen has good weight to itCons:-The pages it comes with are not ideal for beginners. They're incredibly thin and show little instruction on lettering.- While it wasn't a huge issue, there were a couple points no ink came out while I wrote a few sentences. After using a bit more pressure, it was fine.

Quality product. Don't forget proper care of calligraphy nibs
I'm not sure how this would work for a beginner, since I've been doing calligraphy for about 40 years. The barrel is metal and that makes the top a little heavy. I used Parker pens for over 25 years but they stopped making calligraphy nibs. The difference in weight will take some getting used to.The flow is smooth and started almost immediately. One thing to remember about calligraphy nibs are personal and should never be shared or even used with another hand if you are ambidextrous as the nibs bend to the users and will be ruined otherwise (they may leak or just not write well, etc). This is something that should last for years.

Get it
I haven’t used a calligraphy pen since I was 10.. I stubbed onto this looking for gift ideas for my 11 year old daughter. I got this for her and (I’m) hooked!! Im having so much fun!! This pen is easy to use and doesn’t hurt to use. I’ve been writing Passages from my Bible and it looks like the Declaration of Independence! I’m in love with this pen!! It’s great for beginners! It’s quality is not of “rich descent” but for $20 yes!! Buy it fall in love!! Buy a keep sake later and realize that you still prefer this one because it didn’t cost a pay check to purchase! I loved it so much, I ordered one for my sister for her 17th birthday. She has never thought of using one and is now super delighted!! On the negative side. I tried using this pen outside on my deck and it was bleeding ink on my hand. To be far it was 90 degrees! Maybe all Calligraphy pens do that I don’t know!!

Awful!
Don't buy this pen - It's horrendous! Unfortunately, I waited too long before trying it, so it was too late to return.I had several fountain pens when I younger. They all worked by dropping the ink cartridge into the pen body and then screwing on the tip to puncture the cartridge. Not with this pen. You need to either push the cartridge onto the tip, then screw the whole thing into the body, or put something into the pen body to make up the difference in depth. The ink is awful - It's basically translucent. You'll probably need to let it dry, then apply two or three coats to make it look as it should. Or you can buy a better pen with quality ink. I recommend the latter. The awful ink leaks when you remove the cartridge. In my previous experience, with other pens, the cartridges wouldn't leak when they were removed (unless they you squeezed them).Bottom line - Do yourself a favor by not buying this thing!

Broke after one refill attempt
I bought this for my daughter, and it works fine and is a fairly easy set to learn with, BUT...The very first time I replaced the ink cartridge, the barrel cracked. I have many other pens, mainly from Parker, but thought I would give this one a whirl to see if my daughter would take to Calligraphy. I expected it to be lower quality than my fine pens, but also expected it to last more than one week. We have taped it, and use it gingerly, but the cap will not go on, so you have to be VERY careful to make sure it is placed correctly in the pend cup so as not to have the cap come off and leak. Not worth even the low price tag.

It sometimes works well
It's not a terrible pen. At first I started writing with it the one seemed nice. But I'd notice it would randomly lose its thickness and the ink wouldn't come out smoothly. Which makes the writing ugly if I don't catch it and write in a practice sheet. Also the pen cap has scratched the pen. Just placing and removing the cap scratches it up. Not cool. I like taking care of my things and a pen scratching itself makes that impossible. It's an okay pen. I guess I got what I paid for. A cheap pen that seem to work better for some people.

Bought the pen for the wife. The pen came in with a rough/sharp texture. With the silver finish, i was able to used a 1500 grit fine sand paper to clean up the texture without damaging the pen. She uses it everyday and appears to work fine with a little issue on the ink leaking here and there but she appears to like it.I gave it a 3 stars because of the issue with the texture and the usual leak. There could be a way to adjust the tips but the instructions doesn't say anything on how to maintain the tips just techniques on how to write with the pen.

Can't do copperplate calligraphy - pressure input does nothing!
I purchased this pen set to finally get into practicing calligraphy with fountain pens, as i'd gotten comfortable with the felt brush pens. Boy was I disappointed. Unlike other fountain pens meant for calligraphy, these nibs don't separate at all when pressure is applied. This prevents the fundamental part of creating the necessary strokes for calligraphy, in transitioning from thin (light pressure) to thick (hard pressure) lines.Other calligraphy pens of this type allow for the two tines in the nib to separate when pressure is applied, allowing for this process to happen. This pen DOES NOT do that, on any of the nib sizes. On top of that, the ink flow is splotchy and keeps skipping, and the smallest nib is still too wide for normal-sized handwriting. So - this is a fountain pen for normal, *not calligraphy* writing. Technically could be used for italic-based calligraphy styles; you know, the ones you wouldn't need a special pen for anyway. But absolutely not able to create copperplate calligraphy. Should have been advertised.
