Excel: QuickStart Guide - From Beginner to Expert (Excel, Microsoft Office)

IMO – not comprehensive but definitely covers a wide range of tips (not chapters)…
I believe this book will be an excellent guide for kids. Not saying that this book is not suitable for mature readers, but it’s succinct and straightforward writing style is easy to follow. There was a chapter on Excel 2016, and I see a flaw there that there are no images of it. Since it’s a new version, I believe it is absolutely necessary to include images too. Otherwise all the information here is incredibly helpful. For me particularly the functions and macros chapters.

Worthless
Having skimmed its many glowing reviews, I purchased this book. Alas, it is worthless, so much so that I must conclude that most (if not all) of its 5-star reviews are spurious. (Please read those reviews more carefully than I did. Most are poorly written, and many of them are virtually incomprehensible, clearly written by people barely conversant in English, people for whom this book would have been indecipherable.) This heavily padded, 99 page pamphlet claims to be a "Quickstart Guide From Beginner to Expert." But in fact it is neither a "quickstart guide" nor is it of any use to a "beginner", as its often impenetrable prose assumes its readers are already quite conversant in Excel. (A randomly chosen sentence on page 39: "If you have C or C++ coding knowledge, then this is the Excel counterpart to string concatenation.") What this book "is" is a poorly written manual that catalogues the features of Excel 2013 (not Excel 2016, as its back cover claims). It contains not a single illustration to supplement or illuminate its labored text. I'll be returning my copy for a refund.

Made some problematic functions work out easily!
This book was the first search result and the best seller; also had many good compliments so I bought it.There are excellent explanations of the excel function and formulas and the most essential chapter was the one of macros. This book is not for an already Excel expert, but for beginners who aspire to excel in Excel. Since this book starts with the basics and carries on in a gradually advancing manner, it’s easy for a novice to understand the functions of the software. For the 2016 version, some images of it would have been a brilliant inclusion, so that readers can plainly see how improved it is from the older versions.

The program Excel isn't easy and I of course had to use it to make something and I've been trying to learn excel for a while now and had some troubles. This book really caught my attention and proved itself with all the help it has done. Its very good written in a very easy understandable language and explains on every page in great detail with diagrams and screen shots and you even can download the files from various places to practice. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to learn excel.

NOT FOR THE BEGINNER!
Poorly written; should have included some screen shots, e.g., the "ribbon," to enable the beginner to understand what the author was referring to. I bought this to give to someone learning EXCEL and quickly realized a novice would not be able to make heads or tails from studying this book.

Not very advanced
It's really good on what it has, but I needed more.Wish it had Table of Contents with linked chapter & section headings--but for the price, it's good.

This is the worst book on Excel I have ever come across
This is the worst book on Excel I have ever come across. I was drawn in the by low price. The book is devoid of any kind of graphics, images or photos. It is merely and very briefly descriptive of the basic functionality of Excel. Looking back at the other reviews, I can see how many were written over a short space of a few days. Kinda of suspicious. The person I got the book for said to me 'you get what you pay for.' So true in this case.

Become expert in excel
Microsoft Excel has the basic features of all spreadsheets, using a grid of cells arranged in numbered rows and letter-named columns to organize data manipulations like arithmetic operations. This book will help you to learn everything about this amazing software. You will be able to start from the beginning and master it within a very short time. This book will be your guide to make you understand how microsoft excel works and how you can maintain all your statistics, do quick calculations, managing data, creating charts or spreadsheet. I really like reading this book.

This is a pointless guide and is only suitable for an absolute beginner who has never used excel or a computer before.DO NOT PURCHASE this book you will waste your money. You are better off using your cash to wipe a stain on the kitchen counter. In all seriousness don't waste your money!!

98 pages of wasted paper.
I learned more about Excel from reading the back of shampoo bottles than I ever did from this "Guide".
