It is not mounted under a porch or awning and very little water drips in. I think the amount of water that comes in is acceptable for our conditions. When it does, it's through the mounting holes in the back so we'll put a little silicone over holes. It can be used without the newspaper holder. It fits most anything we receive I'm the regular mail. It has a nice flat portion under the word Post to add house numbers if desired. It looks very nice and unique. I'm thoroughly pleased to have found this mailbox and a nice price!

I originally purchased this product 3 years ago and have loved it and actually painted my door to match the red because I loved it so much:) Due to weather damage and fading I ordered again and this time the red was more an orangey red than the dark colonial red that the original box was. So I’m sending it back and going to try Spray painting the old one. Really love the style and size though:) recommend

Bought this mailbox to upgrade from the tiny $12 Lowe’s mailbox that the previous home owners had painted a disgusting bright teal color. It’s much bigger than I was anticipating, and can easily accommodate the ad newspaper I get every week and still close completely! It did come with a slight dent on the back that made it close crooked, but it easily popped out with a light push, and the lid closed correctly afterwards. I used siding hooks to put it up (as I am a notoriously bad driller), and it is holding up just fine, even on heavy mail days! Definitely a better and prettier option than the ones available at your big home improvement stores.

I LOVE THIS!! My neighbors, and even the mailman, commented on this mailbox, said "he loves it"! Easy 2 screw installation. I recommend 2 long, 3" screws to get through the siding and into the house. Screws don't come with it. It arrived fast, and really looks nice on my house, adding a "European flare," which everyone notices, and compliments me on. Holds a lot of those magazines, and lots of mail, that no normal sized mailbox could hold. Made well, I expect this to out last the others, that I've had, from the "big box" stores, because it's painted well and won't rust as the brass ones did.. It's so pretty, I'd recommend it to everyone to hold all of those items a regular mailbox can't hold.I already know 2 people who want this on their homes.

I ordered this and had to wait for the delivery. When it arrived a week or so ago, it wasn't as pictured-my box says POST rather than POSTE. Also, the lid catches on the edge of the box when you lift it up and has rubbed some of the finish off. I dealt with this by bending the box edge a little so it clears the lid. Finally, it's advertised as coming with a newspaper holder, but it does not. You get the box and that's it (no mounting hardware, instructions, nothing). It's a cute box and I am keeping it, but it's not what they are advertising.

This is GREAT!!As I am English and wanted a RED ''Post'' box ;0) I went for it despite the bad reviews expecting to have some issues with installation - BUT NOWhat's everyone moaning about!!!??!!No problems at all with attaching or fit and the box is lovely addition!

Pros: Nice color, great style. Roomy enough for a generous amount of mail.Cons:1.Not waterproof. We had a decent rain the other day (but not a huge storm) and our mail was totally, *completely* soaked. This mailbox is only usable if you mount it far away from the elements, like on a deep front porch.2. Paint already seems to be fading, and we've only had it up a few weeks.3. The holes in the magazine rack were odd...one of them lined up just fine, but the other one was off. My husband had to drill a new hole in order to mount it.The wet mail was the dealbreaker...we're on the hunt for a new mailbox.

I am making cosmetic updates to my house and I finally got around to the this mailbox. My fault, I should have opened this when it arrived because I would have returned it. The pitiful 2 tabs this box uses as hinges were totally too small. One hinge's eyelet was popped out and broken. Very disappointed. I will have to look locally.

Beau chic beau genre mais ne vous attendez pas à un produit ultra robuste. On s'entend qu'on n'aurait jamais trouvé ce produit localement, en Ontario... C'est vraiment plaisant de trouver et surtout, pouvoir commander EXACTEMENT ce que l'on veut! Nous aimons la taille plus large au haut aussi puisque ceci permet d'accueillir des grandes enveloppes et des petits colis plus large - ce que nous n'avons trouvé dans AUCUN magasin ou quincaillerie dans la région de Gatineau/Ottawa, même des magasins spécialisés! Cela dit, le matériau est très mince et c'est ce qui fait qu'il peut facilement se bosseler, s'égratigner, se plier. Bon, une fois installée au mur, aucun problème par contre avec une utilisation normale, on s'entend (ouvrir et fermer le couvercle). Nous avons choisi de garder le nôtre malgré une petite bosse car c'était le modèle parfait pour l'espace (couleur, look et surtout, le mot "poste" en français, ce qui nous plaisait énormément!) et ça ne parait pas outre mesure. Mais ce que d'autres clients ont dit sur le paquetage, c'est vrai : c'est serré, il n'a pas suffisamment de papier bulle pour protéger adéquatement ni suffisamment et on doit l'inspecter dès l'arrivée. J'ai décidé d'acheter malgré les commentaires, et de tenter ma chance parce que nous aimions tellement le modèle. Nous avons été relativement chanceux, juste une petite bosse que j'ai ramené moi-même avec une légère manipulation au couvercle. Ça fait très chic au mur, on l'aime bien.

I bought these mailboxes because they aren't the same as others in the neighbourhood. Most people have the wide rectangular boxes. There are two units in the house so we have one by each door. I have already gotten compliments from the neighbours on how cute they are. The size works great. We installed without the bracket for the newspaper as we don't need it and box looks better without.

This mailbox is pleasing to look at and a good size. However, installing it was a wee challenge. Since the only screw holes are at the top, it would up jutting out at the bottom. I added some spacers and this fixed that problem. Either way, the mailbox makes a LOT of noise when it's opened because the bottom 4/5ths aren't attached in any way.

Looks nice, but the bottom is a bit narrower on one side so the mailbox is not completely flush to the wall it is onI chose to ignore this and keep the mailbox anyway

A simple mailbox with 2 hanging brackets. The brackets were mismatched.The mounting hardware holes were incorrectly drilled.The washers were split and useless. I fixed it myself. Poor workmanship and lack of quality control makes this the last product I buy from this manufacturer.
