Great kit for the amateur drummer!
I have some drumming experience from my high school days (decades ago), and have a reawakened desire to learn to drum on a kit, for fun. I started with a practice pad, and wanted more. But I have no space for a kit, and also want to play without disturbing others. The Pyle fits the bill perfectly. It's compact, while offering a snare, three toms, and three cymbals, and it sounds great. You might not mistake it for a real kit, but with headphones, it sounds surprisingly close. Even the speakers are pretty good, when my wife is in the mood to hear some drumming. The selection of "voices" for the drum heads is remarkable. I do wish that the pads had a little more bounce and sensitivity to softer taps. I can't do soft rolls on it as easily as I can on the practice pad. I have both nylon-tipped sticks and wooden sticks, and it doesn't make a lot of difference. (The tom pads seem a little better for this than the snare pad, for some reason.) The foot pedals are good for what they are--I have no experience with real foot pedals--but as other have noted, they move around on the floor a lot. I'm experimenting with little vinyl stick-on bumpers to make them less prone to sliding. One small design quibble: When you power it on, the default volume is 12 (that's even higher than 11, if you know what I mean). It's loud. Don't try it with headphones on. So you have to form the habit of Power On, Volume Down. I bought an inexpensive Luvay snare drum stand, and that works reasonably well with the drum set, though I have to go to the absolute maximum height to get the drums at a good level. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B077THLFYQ I have one accessory bag on the stand for the sticks, and another to get the pedals up off the floor when I'm not using them. I'm one week into using the Pyle, and so far have been loving it!

PYLE PRO - ELECTRONIC DRUMS.... FOUR STARS!!!
After making an inquiry at the post office, I was able to pickup my delivery of this PYLE drum kit (see attached photo). I purchased this as an alternative to trying to create drumbeats using piano keys/and or drum pads on a drum machine. - The problem with these methods are never lined up in the order of an actual drum set... which makes the very awkward to play, for me. - I used to play drums in college, and I was looking for a device/tool that allowed me to play them... in the same fashion. The PYLE Desktop Drumkit comes closest to simulate THAT experience. The drum pads are laid out fairly logically (similar to an actual drumset). However, I had to make a few adjustments: 1- The upper left pad was programmed to be OPEN HI-HIT (instead of crash cymbol) 2- The upper right pad was programmed to be CRASH cymbol (instead of ride cymbol) 3- The lower "middle" pad was programmed to be RIDE cymbol (instead of hi-hat) Saving this setup as a USER drumkit has allowed me to play the PYLE drums similar to an actual drum kit (using the supplied drumsticks that came with the unit). ALSO: Sound quality is pretty decent. - I played around with the individual levels of each sound pad to get the pads to sound more to my liking. ___ THINGS THAT COULD BE BETTER: I found the supplied drum pedals (that control the hi-hat & the kick drum) to be inconsistent, and unpredictable. With both pads they tended to add extra notes when tapped. - For, instance... when I wanted single notes (hits, of either pedal)... it would trigger "double" or "tripple" notes... when I was only trying to play a single note. - I tried tapping the pedal softer... and rotating the pedals at different angles so that my foot would strike the pedal in different areas of the pedal to try to eliminate the "extra" notes... but nothing that I did seemed to correct the problem. - Will probably look into get different pedals by other manufacturers to see if that will be an effective solution to improving "pedal" playability. As a temporary FIX...I programmed the lower right pad to be KICK drum (instead of the low tom). This seems to be a GOOD temporary fix. Regarding the hi-hat pedal... it doesn't "effectively" produce a splash sound (a sound which is used quite frequently in jazz and R&B music). - So, until I can figure out a way to produce a splash sound with the PYLE drums... I will probably resort to using my keyboard to produce "splash" sounds in my recordings. SPLASH sound: Is the sound that is produced when you got back & forth between the closed & the open hi-hat to create a kind of hissing sound. - A sound which was very OVER-USED during the disco era, but if you listen to any disco era record... you can clearly hear the sound that I am talking about. It's a great sound when used sparingly, and strategically... as a percussion accent. Lastly, I would recommend "touch" sensitivity to the drum pads. For, instance... when you hit an individual drum it has a certain tone, and a certain sound decay. If you hit the drum skin HARD - it produces a LOUDER sound & slightly longer decay. And, when you hit it SOFTER - it produces a SOFTER sound & a quicker decay. Presently, the PYLE pads only have ONE sound regardless of how forceful or less-forceful you strike the pad. (At least, "I" don't hear any noticeable difference. ___ Hopefully, this review is helpful. P.S. - Thanks to the gentleman who suggested inserting erasers into the drum pedals to get them to work properly. I will definitely give that suggestion a try!!!

Drum Kit
I just love this machine. It is fun to play, and I learn a lot while having fun. It is part of my work-out and plus, because I learned how to play on a left-handed drum set, and can't play on any open=mic night, because they all have right=handed sets - I can now play left-handed by easily adjusting my technique on this kit. I love all the drum kits. It is an amazing electronic drum kit. All I need to know is how to record off of it.

Great little drum kit!
I'm a new drummer, but have been a performing musician and sound tech for decades so I know quality sound. I've only had this kit for about an hour but am already very impressed with it. The sounds it produces are high quality, someone could actually gig with this if they wanted to. I'm talking about running it through a P.A. system, which is what I'm doing with it. The pads have a little bounce to them so it feels something like a real drum head. A lot of reviewers have had trouble with the pedals double triggering but I'm not having that problem. I think they actually have a pretty good response once you get used to them. They do need to be velcroed to floor so they don't move around. I haven't explored everything this kit has to offer yet but it is for sure a nice inexpensive set to learn to drum on. I really like having the internal songs that you can play to also. I'm very happy with it.

Great e- drum pad, bad kick pedal.
The e-drum pad : I really love this kit. It sounds amazing even thru the built in speakers alone and when run it into a proper amp or P A it really comes alive and sounds like a real drum set! You can get many different drum sounds from it with the module. It does a lot of things and can be hooked to your computer to do even more. set up is easy, build quality seems really good. The pedals: This is where we lose a star. Should lose 2 stars but the drum pads and module are awesome so I didn’t want to be too harsh. The kick pedal over triggers . One beat makes several extra unwanted beats. What I did for a temporary fix I jammed a soft piece of plastic inside the pedal. It works somewhat but I have to stop and readjust it about every song and that gets annoying. It’s not like I can return it for one with good pedals because these pedals are notoriously bad on all of this model. The solution: There is a guy on YouTube who custom makes upgraded pedals for this model and sells them on eBay. They are a bit pricey ($135.00) but worth it to make this kit right. Since the price of the kit itself was pretty cheap , I went and ordered the upgrade pedals. Just go on YouTube and search pedal upgrade for Pyle pted06. One question I have for the Pyle company is this…Why would you make such an awesome e-drum pad and cheapen it with such horrible pedals? Edit: Message to Pyle, I paid $170.00+tax. You have since raised the price to $208.00 without any improvements to the crappy pedals. It no longer makes since to pay this increase and shell out another $135.00 for the upgrade pedals when you can get an actual full electronic drum set by Aleysisfor a little more. You just lost another star.

Instant gratification for aspiring drummer!
This machine is an instant hit with kids who have any inclination to pencil-tap or get into percussion. I was amazed at how simple the setup was (literally took 2 minutes). The included manual is detailed enough to get through setup with ease. The machine is of high quality, especially the drum pads and appears that it will take a good beating either when using drum sticks or your fingers. The outstanding feature that any parent will appreciate is the ability to play using headphones. The volume levels are good enough even when set to low volumes to enjoy the music via headphones. The other feature I enjoyed was the ability to turn on hand-percussion and increase the sensitivity of the pads to use hands instead of sticks. The voices included are of great quality and it sounds just like you are playing real drums. I'm hoping my 12 year-old will get to enjoy using its many features to learn and practice different beats. It would be terrific if Pyle can invest some effort into producing a quality video on Youtube or directly on their website to enumerate and demonstrate the many features of this machine, especially since they have a few other machines that largely use the same features. For example, the section on how to download and load your own samples is not discussed in any detail, although the feature exists. This would increase the versatility of young aspiring drummers using this machine! Overall, this is a very fine product and should instantly gratify kids aspiring to be drummers.

Middle Aged Beginner Now Don't Wanna Work, Wanna Bang On the Drums All Day
I bought this on a whim. The only drums I've ever played was Rock Band. I really enjoyed that game, but the drum kit didn't last. I was going through a stressful period in my life and was thinking back to those fun times with Rock Band. I decided to buy this set just for fun. I gotta tell you....it's been a blast. There are so many great functions on it that I don't even bother with (even tools to learn) because I'm too busy having fun just listening to music and banging along with it. I've also figured out that I can look up old Rock Band drum songs on youtube and follow along with these drums! Yowza! Definitely a stress buster and a whole lot of fun, even if you're feeling too old to start something new. I have my drums set up on a wire rack with a towel folded under the back end to tip it forward. The wire rack allows me to have the drums at a comfortable height and also gives me a perfect place for my laptop to sit so I can follow along with those Rock Band videos. PROS: No matter what your skill level (mine was really zero), you can play this right out of the box and have a lot of fun with it. CONS: The pedals, as others have stated, are kind of a pain. If there was one thing I wish I could replace it would be the pedals. I'd love to be able to kick it without having it double tap or miss. It's just too touchy to do it right. I have found that I have better control by placing the pedal backwards and using my heel. I take the time to write reviews because I know that I rely heavily on honest reviews when I make Amazon purchases. If my review was at all helpful to you, please let me know!

Amazing sound and build quality
My 10-year-old son and I are new to drums. We always wanted to learn drums, but we could never fulfill our dream due to the paucity of space at home and expensive drum kits. Then we saw this on Amazon, and after some research, this product seemed like the best fit for our budget and a small home. I gifted myself this drum kit on my 42nd birthday, and we have been super happy with the build quality, sound quality, and features. The only thing I wish could have been better is the base pedal, which is too sensitive to touch and gets pressed multiple times, even if you intend to press it once. It is far away from the actual acoustic drum pedal. I wish there was an after market accessory available that could be attached to the drums.
