Definitely squirrel proof. The gauge of wire used makes this very difficult for them to gnaw and the food inside harder to get at.The bigger birds also find it harder to access. A very sturdy feeder plus a 10 year guarantee that shows faith in a product.

I spent a long time looking for a squirrel proof fat ball/block feeder. This one was worth the wait. Squirrels can not get in. Large birds cannot land on it because of the sloping roof, they do try! Our Great Spotted Woodpecker feeds from it upside down; we have a breeding pair and they are very welcome in our garden. It is good looking, sturdy and very easy to clean. I cannot recommend this enough!

I'm very please with this purchase it is a well thought product that functions well. I supply it with rectangular suet 'balls' and 2 can be fitted side by side. It does not keep the starlings away, they eventually managed to lean enough to reach the food and sometime they actually get it with a bit of a squeeze but it was not the intention of the manufactor so that's fine.I did not give this item the full 5 stars as the suet ball holding section has a very large wire mess so you could not provide peanuts instead for instance! It is also a little hard to open the lid; having said all that the finishing is really good, with no sharpe hedges and I would buy another one.

Well constructed bird feeder. Unfortunately the gaps are very small. Most small birds struggle to get through. In its defence it’s squirrel and magpie proof. Have had various nuttery products and they have been great. This misses the mark.

This is the best one so far , keeps starlings out good made piece of kit very solid much better than expected would Recommend

It's sturdy, I'll give it that, and VERY heavy. However, only the tiniest birds can get anywhere near the food; the robins keep trying but the bars are too close together and they are scared. Likewise with the plumper sparrows - they've tried a few times but given up. The blue tits manage ok, but it will take them weeks to work through even one block and I fear it will mould long before it is eaten. Yes, it keeps the big birds away - no more jackdaw and magpie raiding parties, but an extra half inch on the width of the bars would have made all the difference.

not very happy with this product feeder badly made

I have 2 of these, and they are greatHowever, they have 1 weak point.The fat balls etc sit on the bottom of the feeder, so the squirrels just hang upside down and demolish the contents.I've added a plastic wedge that defeats them by raising the contents about 2cm off tge floor.All it needs is a ridge, or block inside atbthe bottom, make it completely squirrel proof!
