🔧 Elevate Your Oscilloscope Game!
The Siglent Technologies SLA1016 Mixed Signal Hardware Option enhances the SDS1000X-E and SDS2000X-E Oscilloscope Series, enabling four-channel mixed signal analysis. It requires an MSO activation license and is compatible with specific firmware versions, all while maintaining a lightweight design for easy portability.

Excellent solution. Take into account missing information in the manual
The product is very functional since it allows you to add digital signals to an oscilloscope, mixing 4 analog channels with 16 digital signals. The only detail is that the manual does not mention anything about the hysteresis band. When using the user threshold (+/-5 V), take into account that this device has a hysteresis band fixed at ~500mV.The manual indicates in page 130:"Values greater than the set threshold are high (1) and values less than the setthreshold are low (0)"But it is not correct. This threshold value is the central point of th hysteresis band. This means:If the user threshold is assigned (for example) to 0V. The transition from 0 to 1 will occur above 250mV and the transition from 1 to 0 will occur below -250mV. (500 mV of hyysteresis band). If the user threshold is set to 300 mV. Then the transition from 0 to 1 will occur above 550mV and the transition from 1 to 0 will occur below 50mV.The same for user thresholds negatives. If the user threshold is set to -150 mV. Then the transition from 0 to 1 will occur above 100mV and the transition from 1 to 0 will occur below -400mV.The TTL, CMOS, and other configuratios have the same behaivour, according the values indicated in the user manualI take this band by experimentation with differents threshold values and with a AWG in DC and Square wave.

Expensive but worth it
This item is great, a definite must if you are working with digital signals. However, make sure you purchase the license to use on your oscilloscope because you can only use it 30 time before the oscilloscope stops you from using the MSO.

Love it.
Love the mixed signal add-on and the scope. It's kind of a bummer you need to also purchase the software. The purchase and activation process were quite a drag and took some trial and error. The whole process would be much more user friendly if they charged more for the hardware and had it just work when you plug it in.

Works great and is flexible
This worked for my needs (hobbyist) and has proven to be very flexible. You can trigger the scope (must be the Siglent 4 channel scope) on any of the digital signals in addition to the other standard triggers. Digital signals can be combined as a bus (you can define up to 2 buses) which makes it very easy to see the values in binary, hex, decimal, etc. Digital signals can be displayed with analog signals and the digital signals can be repositioned as desired. You can also turn off the display of any of the digital signals. (Instructions on how to use the unit is in the scope's user manual.)The only thing that I don't like about this unit is that you need to (eventually) purchase a license from Siglent and enter the license number into the scope. (That is an extra $115 dollars on top of the purchase price.) However, you can use the unit 30 times (power on/off cycles) before buying the license.I would buy it again.

Works as advertised and out of the box.
Paired with the oscilloscope makes a great debugger for projects. Very cost effective tool.
