Unimpressed
I would have liked to listen to this before purchasing-maybe I missed the place where I could do that--my two-year-old granddaughter, who moves to any beat or music spontaneously, ignored this. She looked up when I first turned it on, then changed the CD/radio player back to the radio. I tried again later with no response from her. I found the music to be boring, the singing voice(s) shrill and unappealing, the music unvaried. My granddaughter has been listening to classical music with a 'real orchestra' since she was born; also, to many different types and sounds of music--this is truly the first she didn't respond to (except to 'change the channel'): no dancing, moving, humming to it at all.

A Fun Way to Experience Good Music
I love the Juno Baby concept. While I personally don't listen to orchestral or classical music all the time, I recognize their value and believe everyone should be exposed to this type of music, especially children. The founders of Juno Baby created their product with the goal of enriching the lives of children through high quality music. The Juno Baby creators didn't just trot out new arrangements of old pieces, but rather developed characters and added upbeat, educational lyrics. It's fun for kids and parents can know their children are getting exposed to diverse music in a playful, kid friendly manner. The CD, which includes lyrics, is supposed to be for children ages 1-5. I have a two and a half year old and introduced her to Juno Baby with much fanfare. At first she was excited, but then moved on to other things. I left it playing in the background, but she seemed more interested in her blocks and other toys than singing along.I put it in the CD player in the car, but once again, she didn't seem terribly interested. Perhaps after a lot of exposure over several car trips she'd start to sing along, but I think the issue may be the medium. For my little girl, the Juno Baby DVD's would be a much better purchase. The Juno Baby people would probably agree since they've created a whole line of characters and dolls, all of which don't really translate to CD. At least, however, as a toddler with a developing mind she's picking it up, even if passively.Overall, I appreciate what the founders of Juno Baby have done. The execution is good as far as a CD is concerned. However, to get the most of out the experience and to keep the interest of older children, especially to get them to actually sing along, I'd recommend the DVDs instead.

Disliked by every child I know
We keep music on in our house and tend to enjoy most music. A series of different speakers keeps rooms filled with wonderful exotic sounds. Even our teenagers have eclectic and wonderful taste in music. It's funny to hear the different music blasting out of people's bedrooms and offices, truly enjoyable. Probably the only thing not played here is country music, and now, Juno Baby. The first time I played this, the most musically inclined children of my club, covered his ears and said, "Make it stop, grandma." This is the 3 year old who has perfect pitch. He sings and hums almost anything he has heard before. It seriously seemed to be hurting his ears. I switched back to Mozart, which is something that children really enjoy. They enjoy most music, from the soft sounds of Beethoven to the more energetic Squirrel Nut Zippers. They fall asleep to the Grateful Dead. (Only one of them likes my Big Band music but there's time.) All the children, aged 2 through 10, like an eclectic bunch of music. Juno Baby is the only thing I have ever played that caused children who love music to ask me to turn it off.I did not enjoy it either, but thought it was just me. I can't stand the sound tracks to most cartoons (or football) because I find them coarse and aggravating. This was worse. The voice singing this is grating, not unlike fingernails on a chalkboard. It is edgy, but not in a good way. This music is chaotic and unpleasant.

5yr Old Loves It
I waited until we would be taking a long drive in the car, so we would be able to listen to the whole thing (all 31 minutes LOL) without interruption. As soon as it began, I had flashbacks to children's shows like Fraggle Rock, which had great music with weird puppet voices. I glanced back at my son to see his reaction, and he had a huge smile on his face. I asked him, "What do you think?" He replied, "This is great music!"My son listens to all kinds of music genres, but when it comes to children's music, he's been listening to a lot of Imagination Movers and They Might Be Giants...I was afraid this music might be a little too childish in comparison, but he was laughing his head off at some of the lyrics & made me play the CD more than once.To be honest, due to the short length & puppet voices, this isn't one that I can play in the car more than a couple of times, but I was really glad that I selected this one.In addition to entertaining lyrics telling stories that little kids could probably relate to (or at least find amusing), the music was sensational! I am shocked that I never heard of Juno Baby before the Vine Program. I'm very glad my son was able to enjoy this CD.We've also been listening to Juno Jr. Instrumental Edition.
