Just buy these. Stop looking at other toys you are unsure if your kid will like. I have three kids ranging from 4-14 and they all play with them. Friends come over and want to play with them. These are well made, the texture is like a plastic waterproof feel so I tested out letting my kids use them in the bathtub and they held up well. (We have an old metal tub that you can stick magnets to). They are easy to use even for my 4 year old. The magnets are a good quality that kids can easily manipulate the shapes into what they want. Legos are fun, but I think these are more fun! Plus the added bonus, they don’t hurt if you step on them! They seem pricey, but they are well made and worth their value. I highly recommend getting them! If you are unsure you want to commit to buying the bigger pack, get a smaller one first then buy the big pack. They will all fit together and you will see kids use their imagination and challenge themselves to create more.

It is expensive. However, the quality is evident. Our family is loving it. It is fun for 3 year olds all the way to the parents. Our 8 year old daughter has built a lot of different animals, robots, etc, I love watching her create and solve problems. The pieces come in a quality box and is very easy to maintain in it. If you buy some of the extra smaller packs you can always keep in the same box as there is extra space. I would say that for our family (4), we had to buy more sets to be able to have fun at the same time without removing pieces from someone’s creation. The kit was small for us since we all ended up wanting to play with it.

I bought these based on a recommendation from Busy Toddler. Because there is no competitor for this type of toy yet, it's really pricey. But because it's like magnet tiles, it's a forever toy and I'll need lots of sets!

I'm with the reviewer who said these simply aren't inspiring: sounded like a great idea, and all the 5 star reviews made me go for it, but it's difficult to make anything that looks like what one is attempting to build. Not difficult to handle: just not enough variety in the shapes to come up with a lot of ideas. The pieces are well made and sturdy though.

Positive: Versatile and portable toy. Really does encourage creativity. In some ways, it felt like a progression from magnatiles, which can get repetitive with angular shapes. Negative: Single magnet pieces can get lost.

My sons love this toy. They build different things (never as sophisticated as the ones in the add though). But it is a good game and it is light. However, given the many prices, I would not bring it on a holiday or similar. So the lightness is simply useful to take from one room to another. I bought other smaller sets to have other different shapes.

Update after 2.5 months: Surprisingly it still holds and works perfectly, kids still show interest, not daily but every once in a while. Sharing this as I wasn’t sure that it will last that long. Apparently I was wrong. Recommended Original review: Packaging - Apparently this came in multiple boxes, and wasn't so easy to open (kids were excited, but I am not 100% sure that they could have opened it by themselves). The actual box has very nice design and catalogues. First use - After we've opened it my 3 kids (Ages: 3, 7 & 10) immediately jumped on it and started to click the pieces together, I had to show them that there is an instructions manual that teaches you how to build stuff.. the nice surprise is that there were enough pieces for all 3 kids to use and assemble different shapes (airplane, ball, etc.) Durability is surprising, my 3 YO is far from being gentle with it.. and still, other than few marks, it still fully functioning and in the original shape.. we'll see how that goes (will comment again in few months). Overall - kids are happy with it, was their go-to toy for the first few days, and now it still being used every other day or so.. I didn't do much research about other shapes that you can assemble, but maybe I'll need to do such in the near future. Happy with this purchase.
