Lightweight and powerful
3,000 watts and light weight. Each channel can run in full range or just the highs or just the bass with a flick of a switch, so no crossover and no menus. Simple and easy to operate.

Seriously rugged, seriously fantastic power amp!
I'm a music geek... an electrical engineer (day job) in a hard working coastal party band and I still have perfect hearing. Through the years I have run all kinds of interesting equipment and amps including Mackie, Yamaha, Crown and JBL stuff. I started running IPR amps when our heavy, bullet proof, and old Peavey CS800 amps became unreliable (after 25 years of hard service). I bought the IPR's thinking "they're cheap and nearly disposable if they don't last"... the salt air at most of our gigs is very hard on ALL electronics. We run an IPR2-3000 on mains for our small PA. This is one of the BEST sounding amps I've ever had in service! Audio is clean, transparent, and puncy, not harsh and "sizzly" on the top end (its very flat - don't EQ it like an analog amp). I was so impressed with them that I took an older IPR1600 apart and built it into a JBL MP418 sub with a fried power amp. This creation has been our main sub for 3 years now - It absolutely stomps - very few amps could survive what we do to it every weekend (like the original JBL-Crown amp). As an electronics designer, I can tell you that the technology in these amps is very advanced, rugged, and brilliantly designed. Its not a piece of cheap crap, its not a toy. ;) And Peavey's support is excellent if you ever need to use it. I am regularly told we have the best sounding small PA in the area - and regularly asked what we are running to get such a tight, punchy, and focused sound.

Pretty good, surprisingly lightweight!
So light. You would not expect this thing to have the power that it does. Itโs a pretty no frills device, but keeping it simply is best. Use a pre-amp/mixer to do signal mods. Two issues thoughโฆ..there are non-removable handles that stick out of the front. If your rack has a door, it will not close!!!!! (I removed the door and moved on. Second minor issue is for output connections, it uses Speak-On connectors, not regular XLR or screw terminals. This proved to be a bigger pain that I thought it would be. Overall though, I would recommend this unit and will probably use this model as my go-to for venue installs.

Flame Thrower Power!!!
Effortless, clean volume on this. Fantastic for live sound application. Rated more than my speakers can handle, but because of the clean power, don't have to turn them up loud and it's super clean on the subwoofers and top cabinets. Built in crossovers are perfect for the separation of subs and tops when using two amps. Thank you.

Fails or overheats during use
Ordered this unit last July, the first unit came in with components rattling around inside the unit. Returned and got a replacement. Received new one and tested in our Auditorium and it tested great. Sounded great everything was good. Then time for production, during use Channel B went dead. Could not get it back. Sent out for repair under warranty.(Peavy doesn't do their own warranty had to drive it to some Peavy approved technician). They tested it and said it works fine. After getting it back it ran fine for a few assemblies and events. Last night we had our Chorus concert and it died half way through. At this point we are looking for another amp. We had a old Peavy Amp that lasted us 20 years of great service. It appears they now have a quality control issue as this was lemon right out of the box. Too bad it was always a great product, very disappointed.

12 bought new and they are failing one-by-one within a year
We have about a dozen of these in a large restaurant environment - all professionally rack mounted and in an air-conditioned server room with conditioned electricity run to them. They are fine while they work, but only last about a year under light use. They are all failing one-by-one. The most common fault is the amber "temp" light flashes as soon as the amp is turned on. So, the amp thinks it's overheating and that's it, no sound. We inherited these from a previous owner, so I don't have the proof of purchase required to return them, so I am swapping them out with another brand as they fail.
