Summary: Punch wheel is off by a few degrees so you can't get a clean punch.The wheel rotates OK to select between the hole sizes, but unfortunately it is indexed to be just shy of paralell with the brass base plate. This means when you make a punch, the heel side of the punch makes contact with the base plate, preventing the nose side from making contact. This means you don't get a full cut.I was able to get the punch wheel to rotate just past the correct index location, in which case it does puch properly. I may try to adjust the mechanism so this becomes the correct indexing location.Also the handle has the "Eau de Harbor Freight" smell - the strong odor of cheap plastic.Free / discounted sample provided for evaluation. I received the UNGROL leather hole punch at a discount for review. For DIY this is a great tool, but for serious enterprise uses you may wish to consider something that is even beefier. That said, the hole punches have very sharp edges to allow for penetration through thick leather for a clean cut hole. Rubberized handles made it quite easy for me to grip. I like the fact there is a metal loop at the end of the handle to lock it in place when not in use, and also a metal bar at the front to lock the hole punch of choice in place as well. I used it to punch a hole in an old leather belt of mine and the hole was quite clean, though some light trimming around the edges was still necessary.

Works well

No more using a knife or scissor tip to add a new hole in my expensive leather belts. Now the holes look like more professional and "normal". I followed the instructions carefully and made sure I used the correct size hole puncher to match the other holes in the belts. The instructions stated to use a piece of thick material like denim on top of the plate to extend the life of the puncher.A screwdriver is included to unscrew the mechanism that keeps the puncher wheel from turning or moving around. When selecting the correct wheel make sure the the bottom of the hole puncher lines up flat to the plate and tighten the screw so it can't move. As you can see in the pictures the hole puncher went clean through. It depends on the leather if you may need to do a little twisting to get the hole puncher to go through the thickness of the belt. It cut through like butter on some belts, but I had to twist and squeeze hard to get it to cut through some others.The pieces that were cut can be seen inside the hollow holes of the puncher. You can also see the indentation marks that puncher made on the plate even though it I place a piece of denim on it. That is quite a powerful cutter to do that. You are given a extra plate when the time calls for a replacement.Discounted sample provided for review.
