Farrow & Ball How to Decorate Hardcover – June 7, 2016

I learned so much about paint colors from reading this book. Good info about pure colors, tone and shade. The author provided many photo examples of how to use two or three colors in a room. This is a reference book for me. I love the book. Louise

I bought this book as a gift for my mom (she has a lot of good ideas but struggles with confidently decorating her home and picking paint colors). As expected, the book has tons of great pictures. It seems to be providing just the info my mom needed. It basically walks the reader through a simple design strategy. Talks about architecture, how light effects color, how to figure out what your own tastes and styles are and how to apply them effectively.

I come from a white walls background and this is a great place to start if you want to branch out

this book is everything is promises and more. it makes you want color everywhere. and it shows how to make blend and match. the pictures are smashing.

Everyone who is doing anything to their home needs this book to assist in color palette choices- simple and easy to understand!

It's a good book with a lot of theory but I was mainly interested in before and after and lots of how-to's - in other words tons of photos. For this reason I would not recommend it if you're looking for a lot of visual. It is a beautiful book though and if you like learning the how's and they why's this one is for you.

I've read a variety of decorating books over the years and this is the first one that educated me well on how to perceive subtle differences between colors and train my eye to see those differences in the spaces I'm in. Great photos, clear text.

I received my book yesterday. I LOVE it! I thought it would be mostly pretty pictures like the other Farrow and Ball books but this one is actually very instructional. They have a list of which white goes with each color, using neutrals and different ways to get different affects, like by painting woodwork and trim the same color as your walls. I highly recommend this book for the beginner or seasoned designer.
