Spanish Limes, as they are called in the US, got their name because they resemble small, unripe limes. Typically clustered on a branch and usually sold as such, the thin skin is smooth and leathery. The pulp, gelatinous and glistening is called an “aril” and looks very similar to a lychee. The aril is the colorful, fleshy covering that clings to the seed of the Mamoncillo. The aril can range in color from orange to yellow and its taste can be both sweet and sour. When the fruit is ripe, the pulp is sweetly acidic and has been compared to a cross between a lime and a lychee.

Made a Hit With 10+ People Today!!!
I was in the mood for some Quenepas but living close to the Border in San Diego they are a rare find. I received it earlier Saturday morning but brought it to the refrigerator and continued with my work. My 1st Quenepa in over 25yrs was a “TWIN GINIP!!!” I hope that it brings Great Luck... I shared with my neighbor from Santo Domingo, coworker from Cuba, Guatemala and Santo Domingo. I was able to share a small amount with coworkers from Mexico and The Philippines. Everyone enjoyed it and it brought back tons of memories(one when my teacher in Kingston Jamaica slipped on the shell...that was one of many memories). Thank you. I understand what it took to get it to the West Coast, hopefully with “Supply and Demand,” the prices will go down.

Tasteless, Hardly Any Fruit On The Pit, A TOTAL WASTE IF MONEY!
I would give it NO STARS if I was able to. Waste of money. I am Puerto Rican and know this fruit quite well. Even spoke with seller who assured me they had a nice batch that came in and delicious. I don’t mind paying money on something I enjoy especially when I can only get it from late June to September when in season. The picture with quenepas in my hand are how they almost ALL looked like when you open them. Tasteless and no fruit on the pit. I’ve had maybe 5 that were just so so out of the entire order. Picture with quenepas in bag is just to show how many are left from the $56 quenepas with only having a few that were ok. I found another online store and they sell their quenepas $3.38 a pound!!! And they were absolutely DELICIOUS! Buyer Beware! This should be last place you buy your quenepas!

But otherwise from that it was so sweet. The looks is not the best
Order was placed 9/12 and I received it by 9/14, very fast delivery. I was highly impressed. However, I would suggest that they puncture holes in the box, so that the gunep would breathe, and not be moldy and sweaty, due to insufficient air. But otherwise from that it was so sweet. The looks is not the best, but it was worth it. I figured they knew that it would happen, so they tripled the quantity. I received a full box of gunep about 7 pounds in weight.

Pricey but tasty so you almost don’t care
They were delicious and arrived pretty quickly. However I would get two bags of these in Florida for $20 and a lot of more quantity in each. I didn’t get that many in the bag for almost $40. The price is a bit pricey to me but if you don’t care for that I will say they are really good, I did get a few moldy ones but I separated those and rinsed the rest really good before putting them in the fridge.

Not the best
The quenepas I received were not in the best conditions. They were small, sour and many were spoiled. I commented about the conditions in the shipping condition review and I was send an email that as today still sour in my mouth. I was told that I was hurting small business and that they would give me my money back. The tone of the email is not appreciated and is not how you take care of customer chastising them because they complain about the conditions of the product you send.I do appreciated I was given my money back but the email response was not appreciated.

Not enough for the value and delayed shipping
I ordered these despite some of the bad reviews to try it out myself. However, for the price and amount it is not worth buying online. These didn’t seem to be 2lbs. Some of them were going bad already and it took over a week to arrive. They are very tiney, the pit is so much bigger than the amount of pulp fruit that is edible. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to enjoy them as I remember from my home country. These ones states on the package that they come from the Dominican Republic. I thought I read online that they were supposed to be shipped from FL so not sure which one is right.
