I don't use it for food, I put a trash bag inside and use it for scooping used cat litter. I've been doing this for many, many years - it works great.

15lbs of Bird Seed
I have a few of these Van Ness containers for my bird seed in my shed. These fit right around 15lbs of bird seed. The downside of this brand is that they DO NOT STACK. The lids are domed in the middle and if you try to put them on top of each other, they completely slide off. I put up with it, but I really wish they stacked on one another. Besides that, they are air tight. Nothing has gotten into these containers while they have been stored in my shed.
