Very pleased
At first I thought the projector didn’t work, it turns out I need to leave no gap in between planets so that the bottom will connect for lights. My 3 year old son really loves it as he knows all about planets. Too bad though it doesn’t include the dwarf planets. My son was looking for it. But overall very good.

The Science Can Solar System is good but could be better
The Science Can Solar System is good but could be better. We purchased the product for our 4 year old son who is really into space at the moment and wants to know more about planets. The SCSS is easy to assemble out of the box, you just need to add your own batteries. The plastic planets are easy to identify and the light projector on top is probably the highlight of the product with clear images covering a range of space interests. I'd say the two things that let the product down, is the English commentary that's built into the product when you press on a planet for more information, and the lack of movement of the planets on the solar system itself. The English accent does not appear to have been recorded by a native English speaker and so some of the words are perhaps not clear for a child to interpret. The lack of automated movement of the planets is a real disappointment, but I know this would probably mean the price of the product would need to change too. So overall, good with plenty of room for improvement. My boy still really likes it.

Entertaining but also educational.
Our grandson was delighted with this item, he is currently rather obsessed with the planets in our solar system and very much enjoyed playing and learning from this product.

Overpriced
Easy to set up and a fun way for children to learn the eight planets and their order from the sun. However, the projected images are not as sharp as advertised, which is disappointing. The pronunciation also isn’t very clear, and the background music can be quite distracting, making it even harder to understand what’s being said. While adults can generally follow along, my child found it more difficult to do so, which feels like a missed opportunity for a product aimed at learning. Overall, the product is too expensive for how it currently performs and would need some updates to justify its recommended retail price. I purchased it at a reduced price at £29.99, even then it is way overpriced.

Solar disappointment
Very disappointed. My grandson very interested in all things Space and thought this would be a great addition. The projection was very poor and despite changing batteries multiple times it was very hit and miss. Constantly turning off and on again to get it to work at all.

Great toy for learning about solar system
I just started teaching my 5 year old about solar system, finding information in children's books or videos, but I wanted something more playful, but also great for learning. So I gave it a go with this planetarium toy. It looks really nice and so informative, so it's easy for kids to learn the sizes, looks and positions of planets. Buttons are very sensitive for touch, each says a few facts about each planet. The projector is beloved by my kids, we watch photos of planets, astronauts and other space objects before sleep.

My 5 year old loves it. Projection comes across good on the ceiling as long as it’s rather dark in the room. Shame there isn’t more languages, if you don’t speak German or English, you don’t get the message.
