Should Work well if they are a teenager. **Q: Will this fit a 9yr old?** A: No it would not fit a 9 year old. You will need a 10 or 10 1/2. This glove is big! **Q: Will this fit my 9 year old?** A: It can fit a 9 year old. For each of my a2000 that I give my son, I end up tightening the laces at the wrist. I actually undo the wrist laces completely and move them all up one set of holes. That seems to be enough to make it work. I have only had him try using 11.5 inch so far. I think 12 inch or more might be too heavy for him yet.
