Black Diamond Loose Chalk Chalk

I have been using this chalk for a few months now at my local bouldering gym and it has performed admirably for me. It sticks to my fingers well, it provides excellent grip, and in the 300g bag, it is very cheap. I use a lot of chalk and I have probably only gone through 1/3 of the bag. I will note that this is a pretty chunky chalk, which I like, but some others may not prefer. My climbing buddy complains that this chalk isn't as soft as the chalk he uses. My response to that is that if you are performing an activity that involves grabbing and applying your full weight to hard, rough surfaces for an hour or two, how is the softness of the chalk even a concern? I just break the crumbles up with my fingers, which actually helps coat my fingers better, in my opinion, and I am good to go. I also think it is handy when I get a large chunk into my chalk bag, because I can just rub it gently between my fingers and chalk up without making my hands a sloppy, dusty mess. Basically, this stuff is chalk, and does exactly what chalk is meant to do in this context. I will probably buy this same product next time I need to refill.

La verdad que cumple muy bien con su función. El paquete es bastante grande y me da para mucho tiempo. En verano suelen sudarme bastante las manos pero aguanta bastante bien y se nota la adherencia a las barras de calistenia. Sin duda merece la pena. Lo único malo sería el cierre, pero si lo guardas en casa con una pinza es suficiente.

Hola! 👋🏼 Hay que empezar aclarando que cada piel es un mundo, y que además, dependiendo de las condiciones climáticas, tipo de roca, etc, un magnesio que va MUY bien a una persona, le puede ir MUY mal a otra. Dicho esto me dispongo a expresaros MI modesta opinión sobre este magnesio. Podría decir que este es el APPLE de la escalada. Claramente es un magnesio PREMIUM 💎 y por lo tanto, pagas un precio más elevado que para otros magnesios. La pregunta es… ¿La diferencia de precio compensa la mejor calidad del producto? Pues supongo que cuando te encuentres en el paso clave de tu proyecto, pagarías lo que hiciera falta por ese puntito más de adherencia… ¡Pero eso ya depende de cada uno decidir! Yo me voy a limitar a exponer los siguientes PROS y CONTRAS: A FAVOR: - Bolsa muy TOP. Compacta y con un cierre de alambre que me gusta más que los típicos de “cremallera de plástico” - Magnesio con un grosor perfecto, ni muy fino ni muy gordo, que hace que dure más, tanto en tu magnesera como en tus manos. El magnesio demasiado fino da la sensación de quitarte adherencia y se gasta muy rápido, mientras que el magnesio demasiado compacto cuesta que se adhiera a la mano, por lo que este grosor es PERFECTO. EN CONTRA: - El precio (y tampoco estoy muy seguro de que a la larga sea tan caro, ya que acabas usando menos que con otras marcas). En resumen, te recomiendo que lo pruebes. Cons: The bag can be a pain once in a while since the opening is a little narrow. If you have large hands I would recommend transferring to a larger bag of sorts. The bag is also thick and stiff which is great for durability but it also means the edges can be quite sharp... nothing a nail file or a lighter can’t fix. Pros: Works wonderfully Love the little clutch ball it comes in makes for easy use and less mess/waste. Way superior formula to regular gym chalk blocks and easier to apply Helped prevent blisters Background: I used this when I was training in RawStrength (bench, dead, and back with little to now assistive gear only authorized waist belts, knee conpression, or lifting straps— like the lasso style). I used the block chalk my barbell club provided but wanted to have my own Incase I worked out at home or at a different gym after hours. Let me tell you this stuff is great it has great adhesion and really gives you a solid grip. It almost feels like having a rubber coating on your palms. I have used it for more than just my palms. I have puffed it over my shoulders for back squats and on the front of my thighs for deadlifts to help the bar glide when I tracked too close to my legs. To be honest during the summer being a girl that is a fan of short shorts. I like to keep some on my car to dab on the inner part of my thighs to help with chaffing or even on my feet before putting on shoes that I don’t wear socks with to help with chaffing but to also help keep them from sliding. Either way if you need a good gym chalk this stuff is great.
