Excellent tool
I got the BUCKTOOL Dual Speed 1" x 42" Belt Disc Sander Combo today, and it’s been an absolute workhorse right out of the box. Pros Powerful and smooth brushless motor Excellent build quality — feels solid and professional The large work table makes control and precision easy Runs quietly even under load Cons Belt tracking takes a bit of fine-tuning at first The disc table adjustment could be a little smoother Overall, this sander is an excellent value for the price. It’s powerful, well-made, and ideal for knife sharpening or metalworking. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable benchtop belt sander combo.

Quality tool at an affordable price
I'm really enjoying this belt sander, It's heavy and built to last, I'm using this for Knife making and general machinist work, Grinding high carbon steel is easy on this the 1HP motor just eats through material, really laying into it I haven't been able to bog it down. It's a good tool from a good company. If you just need a reliable tool that can get it done I'd recommend this. If you require a big knife grinder with all the accessories and have deep pockets go that way but for the price you can't beat this if you want affordable power and reliability this is best, I've found.

Meets expectations so far.
The product met my expectations. It was easy to set up by the included instructions. It ran smoothly out when turned on. Quality appears to be superior to the Harbor Freight and Wen equivalent small belt sander products, plus it has a larger 42" belt and 8" disc sander. It runs quieter than I expected and I like having two different speed options. I have concerns that over time the plastic safety guard on the 8" disk sander will not last, it should be steel, though it should be simple to 3D print a replacement. I haven't owned it but a few days, so I can't assess this tool's long term reliability or durability. On its first project, it performed well.

Well thought out machine with a great motor and features
I ordered this sander combo specifically for shaping knife handles(I already have the same brand 2x42 for shaping the blades), and it showed up just in time for me to test it out on my first hand forged Mokume Gane billet, it worked great! I used the 1” belt for squaring up the edges, and used the 8” disk for flattening the faces. The motor seems to be a lot higher quality than the one on my 2x42 version! It has an extra 1/4hp, and seems to have a “soft start” compared to the other. Of course I really wish it had a variable speed controller so I can slow the motor down for sharpening knives but at this price point a VS is unheard of. Lots of other well thought out parts went into this machine, the dual adjustment knobs on the disks work table make it so you can true of the table perfectly, the holder on the side for all the small parts is a nice touch as well. It’s holds all 3 Allen wrenches as well as the miter gauge for the disk(these little miter gauges always get lost since they don’t get used a whole lot). I’m hoping to find some quality 1x42 scalloped belts and then I will probably leave this with the platen removed for shaping knife handles. I’ll leave table on the disk at 45 degrees for shaping the fronts on knife handles as well. The manual says they sell a 4”-(2) 1 3/4” Y for hooking this up to dust collection, but it isn’t included so of course I didn’t get to test that out but I did plug each side into my shop vac and dust collection was better than my harbor freight 12” disk sander. All in all I would recommend this to anyone looking at getting into knifemaking or like me, looking to set up separate tools for different processes.

Better than entry level
I bought this to do metal work as I dabble in blacksmithing and knife making. I thought for the price I'd take a gamble since some of the others are upwards of $900.00 or much more. So, it's heavy, really heavy for its size which I found out when I moved the box from my deck where UPS (poor UPS guy) left it to my workshop, surprise 1. Assembly was a snap and the allen wrenches needed for this are included and the side cover has a storage place for each wrench, surprise 2. After assembly I plugged it in and held my breath as I flipped the two speed switch to high speed. It came to life immediately and I started grinding on a piece of scrap steel that was handy. If used correctly, this ting will munch steel like an old piece of pine wood, surprise 3. Very happy overall and the Velcro style disc sander is also very useful and fairly accurate. Belt changes are quick and easy with a lever activated spring loaded idler wheel. As for longevity, I hope it lasts a long time as it really is a very capable machine.

Great sander, way more power than I need, but everyone likes more power! The dust extraction is tough, two ports, odd size. Bucktool makes an extractor for it but you need to order it separately, and you really need this with the amount of dust you can produce. The machine is a beast.
