Pretty but hard to justify
This is my 4th set of Panny phones and I've always been relatively happy, considering what is available. Innovation and design seems to be generally lacking in the home phone market space so this model seemed particularly interesting with a unique build and interesting features like WIFI repeating. I bought a secondary handset of the same model but later realized I could reuse my older KX-TG6644 DECT 6 handsets as they registered fine against the new base of the KX-PRW120W. So if you're interested in this model but daunted at the cost of buying 3+ additional handsets, don't worry you can mix and match! Sound quality is no better or worse than previous models although being able to point the speaker phone directionally with the phone laying down is a nice change. After using the new phone for several hours a day for a few months now, I don't hate it but don't love it either. The flat, nearly indistinguishable buttons are a step backwards and a hassle to use as you dial then switch between speaker with mute on/ off. The screen is large and colorful but collects oils, fingerprints and slime from your face which builds up over time. I don't regret buying these but unless you're replacing a broken set or buying your first, hard to justify this as a meaningful upgrade considering the cost.Pros:-High quality design, look and feel. Looks great on your desk or counter. Finally a break from the standard stand-tall handset in an answering machine style base.-Wifi support: wifi repeater, link for cell phones to make/ receive calls, no bluetooth but you shouldn't miss it.-Ability to register other Panasonic Dect6 phones; You can buy this version of handset if you like ($$$) but you can also register and use the cheaper normal style DECT6 handsets. I.E. You can mix this phone with other Panasonic models and they will coexist happily on the same network.- Speaker phone, Talk and Mute keys are stacked together on the left side. This may seem minor but if you use your phone for a lot of conference calls, this is a nice design choice as the mute key is sometimes isolated on the right side. This surprisingly varies between the Panny phone product lines.-Color screen is nice and takes this market to the next level, finally-No hands shoulder hold is very comfyCons:-Cost - more expensive than almost every other option on the market, considering cost of expansion-The "laydown" speaker phone function inherent with this phone is nice but the handset is very wobbly if you're trying to enter a passcode on a conference call, for example, while the phone is flat.-Buttons are smooth and far less tactile requiring extra effort to push compared to the older phones. I'm hoping they loosen up a big over time.-Big glass screen = yuk, just like your cell phone, this phone will collect oils, fingerprints and other goodies to make it look disgusting.

the app is easy to use and provides you a keyboard for making ...
I was searching for a device that could let me use my land line from a smartphone (iphone in my case). This was just what I needed. So I will list the main smartphone capabilities of the device first, the app is easy to use and provides you a keyboard for making and receiving calls coming from your land line, it is wifi enabled. The app provides a keyboard for dialing, access to smartphone contacts, option to choose the iphone speaker, it works well also with iphone wired headset. Mute function is there also and keyboard can be also used when in call as to enter dial menus. It also lets you make a direct call to the other headsets which can be also other smartphones. The app provides also with a call register that is useful, but is not updated with calls dialed from another handset. The receiving call alerts on the iphone work very well, after accepting the alert will take you to the app where you can decide to answer or not, the caller id is linked to your iphone contacts and even contact photos are displayed.Setup of the app is easy, and on the base and included handset side the Wifi setup is done with a little help of the user manual. The style of the base and handset is very neat, and the metal polished finish of the handset feel high end. The handset includes a speaker on the upper side to be used on phone speaker mode, which is a real good speaker phone for conferences, the mute function is a soft key but works well. Only thing is that the handset cant be used while charging on the station, so for use you have always to pick it up, but still it works well laying on the table.I havent quite yet tested the answering machine, but it can be accessed from the smartphone app also. The smartphone app needs to be setup to run in background (configuration settings) and keep open in order to receive the coming call alerts at any time, which takes a toll on the battery, but I will say a 10% a day from a full charge. The calls can be taken from the smartphone app even if answered first from the handset.Interesting plus-feature are voice caller id announce on incoming calls and a WiFi repeater to increase your home network range. On the down side there are only some small details, like slow menu navigation on the handset screen, slow dialing speed both on handset and smartphone app.

One giant step up in cordless phones......
Very easy to setup, great features and sound quality. As both my wife and I pretty well always have our cell phones with us, I doubt we will ever need using the actual base phone. Basically that means that it stays looking like new....no fingerprints or facial grease on the beautiful face of this phone. Really is a class act in both looks and functions. I have just over an acre (200x300 foot) of property and I can just about go anywhere and neither the base phone or cell phone drops the connection. As far as the complaints go about the amount of steps in the functions, I really don't have a problem with this as once everything is setup, outside of listening to messages (just a couple of steps), I don't see what people are complaining about. Maybe they expect dinner and dancing. My point is that even if you bought a top of the line anything, if you really try you can always find something your not crazy about. This phone system offers great looks, sound quality (especially the speaker part), tons a functions and the ability of just dusting it off after connecting to your mobiles. Guess you can tell I'm very satisfied. Two thumbs up Panasonic for a great European look.

the besy phone I ever owned
The phone arrived as scheduled and I couldn't be happier with it. The best part is you can use rechargeable batteries rather than the special packs they usuallt have. No more having to wait for the phone to charge just swap the batteries.

Upgraded from our old Panasonic wireless set.
Amazing phone system. Really like the iPhone integration - as we will often have our iPhone with us and not a handset. Also like the way it calls out the number (or name if you have sent over your contacts) so you know who is calling.
