Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick High Build Binding Primer

This stuff works really good! If you have peeling paint, this stuff is perfect. It's kinda like a glue that seals loose paint. My porch had peeling paint so I painted it with peel stop and no more peeling paint. Went over it with regular paint and no more problems. Stuff works like magic.

This stuff is great! I love doing projects, but I despise sanding and stripping paint. I wasn’t sure this would work due to mixed reviews. I coated this swing with this paint about four times. The paint is sheer, I would only use this as a primer. The thickness seemed like typical paint to me. For my project it did fill some of the smaller holes and dents on this swing, but for deeper gauges it didn’t fill them at all. Nothing a little wood filler couldn’t help. This worked perfectly for the peeling paint though! I was skeptical, but it made this very smooth! If you’re looking for something that will make it “perfect” this isn’t it, but for something that will stop peeling it is fabulous! Once a top coat of paint is added you can’t even tell that it ever had peeling paint underneath it. This is going to be a go to for future projects.

Kind of thick. Thought I had ordered the non triple version. Saw a video from a customer who applied it to a portion of her bathroom wall/ceiling. Then she reviewed 4 months later w a positive review. My premium price paint has "primer built in. Hard to call it w/o a 1 or 2 year wait period, but paint persons still recommend a primer 1st. ave a primer for synthetic stucco and another primer for concrete/bricks. They all smell the same. I also have some oil based primer, same brand, that says put it on water or oil base and paint oil or base. we will see. ... Used brush and mini roller to apply.

Easy to apply. Used on front porch on wood flooring 100 years old. Scraped loose paint and sanded bare spots. Has held up for years. It does spread a lot different than other primers so be ready. Easy clean up.

I had high hopes for the Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick High Build Binding Primer, but unfortunately, it did not work at all. I followed the directions carefully, making sure the surface was clean and dry, yet the primer failed to do what it promised. Instead of sealing and binding the peeling areas, it left an uneven finish that didn’t stop further flaking or peeling.The coverage was disappointing, and after everything dried, the surface still felt weak and unstable. I ended up wasting both time and money, since I’ll have to redo the project with a different product. For something marketed as a “triple thick” solution, it certainly didn’t live up to the name.Overall, this was a frustrating experience, and I cannot recommend this primer to anyone who needs a reliable product for stopping peeling paint.Would you like me to make this review more formal and detailed (similar to what you’d post on Home Depot or Lowe’s), or keep it concise and to the point (like an Amazon review)?

This is my 4th and 5th gallon. This primer is really great for restoring and repainting weather battered wood. I pressure washed and wire brushed the old paint, put on a good coating of this primer, painted, and it makes a huge difference. I am not an experienced painter.

The can has a big dent in the side

Nicely packaged and secured well even to Hawaii. Product looked as it should upon opening and price was good. Time will tell how well it works. Would buy again tho.
