An Induction cooking experiment, that impressed!
We wanted to experiment with Induction Cooking. Got this one and put it on top of our existing Electric cooking range. Using this for 6 months now as our main cooking stove & loving it.Pros:+ Heats up very fast and reduces cook time.+ Uses regular 110V plug.+ A major energy saving (at about 1,800 watts when in full 465F temperature setting), compared to our regular 220V which uses around 4,000 watts.+ Easy to clean.Cons: (but not at all big issues)- Slight humming sound.- Timer once set, cannot be increased or decreased. So have to reset afresh the timer.- Had to discard a few (non-magnetic) pot & pans, but they were on their way out anyways.- Would have like temperature readings in both Fahrenheit to Celsius. Only available in Fahrenheit.Upgrade:^ Would like to have multiple timers - 2 mins @ 425F + 3 mins. @ 300F + 5 mins. @ 140F

If it's Mueller I Know it's High Quality.
I have had to acclimate to the power of this induction unit. Using a gas stove is slow and turns my pans black. This is great on everything but I suggest you stay with it for a second when you are guessing the right temperature you need. Tonight I boiled eggs and they boiled over three times and that takes real talent to mess up boiled eggs. I just couldn't get it low enough with the lid on it until I turned it down to 212. I discovered if I left the lid off it could boil at 260. It appears when you lid your boiling eggs it is going to affect the boiling temperature which somehow affects the burner and the digital heat setting.Moral, don't use a lid on water or when boiling etc. I did steam in a large pot w strainer w lid, and no problem there so maybe the pan size is the difference. Still learning on this one.I did note the surface had a plastic covering as one person said. I thought that comes off on some appliances but I'm going to be very careful w mine because electric stove tops scratch up easily.Just have to realize even if there's a problem this company is happy to accommodate. I got my brother an item. He had a small problem and no questions asked - he was sent another w/o even returning the first. Not sure why it says frequently returned but if you can't handle the very strong heat this plate makes please return it because its nothing to fool with. Im learning and I love an electric stove. I want to avoid gas because I come from a town where not liking gas is like buying a Ford when there's a Chevy plant in town. Its a natural gas town. Anyway, if you go into one of the very old homes you can smell gas odor just from the long use of it. I don't think using gas is safe to breathe though people swear by it. Also if you have a gas leak you can become accustom to the smell and not know you have a leak. I'd rather have an electric stove but in my area of CA gas is used more. This is an awesome product. I'm loving mine. I will still be careful though because it requires a careful person when you are dealing with such a powerful unit.Love Mueller products. They really sell powerful long lasting products.Thank you Mueller.

Gift idea? /Fantastic Induction Cooktop for Modern Cooking
I recently purchased the Mueller RapidTherm Portable Induction Cooktop, and I must say, it has worked great cooking Inside the house and I plan to use it while camping was the main reason I purchased mine.First off, the 1800W power and 8 temperature levels up to 460°F give you an immense amount of control over your cooking. Whether I'm simmering delicate sauces or boiling water for pasta, this cooktop offers precision that's hard to find in traditional stovetops. One of its standout features is how it can boil water super fast - I'm amazed at how quickly it heats up compared to my old stove. The LED display is clear and easy to read, making it straightforward to adjust settings on the fly.The automatic shut-off and pot detection features are brilliant for safety and energy efficiency. I've never felt safer using any kitchen appliance; it turns off automatically if no pot is detected, which is perfect for those moments when you get distracted. The child lock function is another thoughtful addition, especially for households with curious little ones. It gives me peace of mind knowing that the cooktop can't be accidentally turned on.I'm also a fan of the four pre-set programs for boiling, frying, heating milk, and keeping food warm. These have streamlined my cooking process, especially when I'm juggling multiple dishes. The design is sleek and modern, fitting beautifully into my kitchen decor. It's surprisingly lightweight and portable, making it ideal for small spaces or for taking to a cabin for a weekend getaway.Clean-up is a breeze since any spillage doesn't burn onto the surface like with traditional gas or electric burners. Just wipe it down, and you're done. However, the only negative I've noticed is the wattage; be aware of where you are plugging it into. The 1800W can be quite demanding on some circuits, so if you're in an older home or using it with other high-power devices, you might want to check your electrical setup to avoid blowing a fuse.In conclusion, the Mueller RapidTherm Induction Cooktop is not just a cooking tool; it's an upgrade to your culinary life. I recommend if you are cooking meat or anything else start with a low temperature especially if you are using butter so that you don't burn the butter fast this thing really heats up instantly it takes some time to master if you are used to only using gas stoves. But its worth the results the food turns out wonderful every time ive used mine. If you're looking for efficiency, safety, and precision in a compact form, this is definitely worth the investment for your kitchen or camping adventures would make a great gift as well.
