Hohner Maraca (S310)

These Maracas are made in Mexico and are well made, after reading all the comments on how large they were I almost laughed when I received mine. They are very small 4-4.5" from end to end 2 of the 12 that I received were slightly longer about 5". Adult size maracas are usually about 13 to 14 inches long. I was hoping to get the larger version but I guess there's too many adults with tiny hands.

I was surprised at how large these are. It says right on the package (children up to 3 yrs old) I ordered them because they are supposed to be for little kids. I expected little maracas. Oh my goodness, if these are CHILD size, I'd hate to see the normal adult size ones! My 16 month old grandbaby lit up when she saw me shaking them the first time, but they are so big it was hard for her to shake them without hitting herself in the forehead and they HURT! She decided she didn't like them anymore after that.

I ordered these for a friend's baby (he was turning one), but when I received them, I saw that they were HUGE!They looked really nice (from through the clear packaging), and they sounded great, but they measured 11 inches long…and the handles were super thick...and the "bulb” part was like the size of a large (Russet) potato... My friend thought they were a bit big for her little guy. For an older child, they would be great.So, still 5 stars, because the maracas really are great - just too big for now.Maybe they should update the product description to reflect the dimensions...

These are almost full sized maracas, but my 9 month son is able to hold them. I wouldn't recommmend them for too much younger though. They did seem to come with some kind of shiny finish on them, but we wiped them down with a wet paper towel and that seemed to remove some of the glossiness which we didn't want him to eat.He has banged them on our hardwood floor quite vigorously and a lot and these show no sign of breaking or cracking. They are currently one of his favorite toys.

These are quit nice especially for the price. I entertain at a senior day care center and the clients are able to easily use them. Not too small and not too big, just right.

The church school will be getting some toys... I wanted maracas that actually were loud, and while these were advertised as such, they didn't work for what I needed. But for the $$, I'll just give 'em to the kids to play with. And keep looking.

Although they are "kids maracas", they sound just like the real maracas. My 2 1/2 year old boy is having a lot of fun with them: I had to explain that they need to be shaken, and not used as drumsticks on the floor or on one's own belly -- after that, it was fine. This product was a nice way to get him interested in producing a rhythm by himself.

I'm happy with the maraca, is the perfect size for kids and adults. I don't like the flat part it has on top.
