CP-383 Cable Tie Fastening Tool, Nylon Ties

You need this tool
I used my boss's Panduit version of this tool almost daily for many years. It's indispensable. But when I went to buy my own, yikes! This tool is less then 1/4 the price and works the same way. I used it last night for the first time and it performed flawlessly on about two dozen ties. I can only hope that it holds up. If you're a professional and you use tie-wraps every day, or if you think nothing of dropping $300 on a hand tool, then don't even hesitate, buy the Panduit. But if you choke on the price, give this a try. It has a very nice solid feel and it does what you need it to do which is to cut the ties off FLUSH. That's the whole point. You can easily tighten ties by hand or with pliers and cut them off with a cutter, but it can (and usually does) leave a sharp end that can give you or someone else a very nasty cut. You can cut the ends off flush with a box cutter if you are careful, but that is likely to end in a lot of blood and damaged wires. You need this tool.PS: There are a lot of tools out there that are supposed to do basically the same thing as this one, and most of them are a lot cheaper, but before you buy make sure they cut the tie off flush every time. If they don't, don't waste your money on them.

Stopped holding the tail after about 50 uses
I bought this for fastening wire harnesses together on aircraft, so cable ties are a necessity. This tool worked well at the beginning, but after maybe 50 ties, the serrated dog that applies pressure to the tail so the tool can pull the tie tight began to slip. I cleaned the serrations to make sure there was no plastic buildup, however it continues to slip. If I manually apply pressure to the dog, the tool works good, so it seems the spring is not strong enough. It is not broken since the dog does spring up to attempt to grab the tail, it just does not have enough pressure to hold it. Had this not happened, I'd be giving this tool 5 stars across the board.

Get What You Pay For...Cheap
Well they seem like a spring wants to pop out when you use them and you feel it every time you use them. Accidently dtopped them from the staggering height of 2 feet and the end broke off. You definitely get what you pay for. Spend the extra bucks and just get a set from Panduit.

Very well constructed zip tie gun
I had ordered another brand prior and did not cut the tip ties flush.... 98% of the time this one cuts it flush, also depends on your setting. Yes, I would buy another.

Great solid tool
Solid tool. Works exactly as advertised. Easily tightens & flush cuts nylon cable ties with tension sufficient that ties don't twist. All done in one pull of the trigger. No twisting necessary like the cheap plastic guns. Also better than the plier style that breaks the ties & dies not flush cut. Very satisfied.
