The opener itself is nice I don't like that it didn't come with a regular charger but rather a European one. My fault for not reading it does get plugged into the computer for charging so it still works

I'm sure it works as well as my other wine opener, but without an AC outlet in my house, what is the point? At this price point, send an adapter along with it so it's usable. I'm sending this baby back.UPDATE: The mfr contacted me about my review and nicely asked me to remove it as they explained that the product was supposed to be charged in the power base (or PC). I had no idea what this power base was. In hindsight, I suspect that the product was probably shipped without the power base, so I was left with an incompatible plug and a USB plug. I wasn't about to plug it into my PC, so I sent it back. Had it come with the power base, I'm sure it would've worked fine.

UPDATE : The Seller has emailed me and found that the warehouse sent the wrong plug with my shipment and is sending me the proper plug !!! I am so impressed with the customer service of this company.. the product is still working like new also! it has been a month since my original review.I have never owned anything like this, and it feels really rich and elegant to open a bottle of refreshment without the manual hassle.Right off the bat, I misunderstood the plug in.. it is 2 prongs that do not fit into a regular USA style electrical outlet(PLEAEE SEE UPDATE), BUT, this does charge via USB... which is a bit odd to me but Hey, I am willing to step into the next century, even if it is kicking and screaming, LOLI was happy that I didnt even have to read the instructions to instinctively know to place it on top of the glass bottle with a cork stopper and press the button, Much to my suprise, the bottle started taking off becuase I didnt have a good grip on it, Haa Haa. But as soon as I did, the bottle cork came out seamlessly, didnt scrape the edges, and believe it or not. went right back in... I have had some trouble in the past getting the cork to go back in and have ruined a decent bottle becuase it sat for too long once opened... I'd come back in a week or two for a glass and it was gross.. This keeps your corks intact.I was also pleased that the foil cutter worked flawlessly as well. I have used a knife once before and that was not the optimal way to cut the foil, as it is pretty unsafe.. The foil cutter is small , fits well in the hand and is small enough to set on the counter or in a drawer without taking up too much space.I am reviewing this item in exchange for a reduced cost or free, but this is not the only reason I do this. I see fake reviews all the time and I was tired of ordering things without honest reviews. SO I found a great site and joined them to make Amazon a better shopping experience.With that being said, there have been instances when an Item I have reviewed favorably has failed me after my review.... and I will always come back in and make it known. This electric wine bottle opener works very well, it also gave me the perfect excuse to open up a nice bottle of wine! :) I have used electric bottle openers in the past so I knew what to expect and how to operate,...which is very easy if you have never used one before. You are able to charge this opener by plugging it into an outlet, or through a USB plugin.Electric wine bottle openers are so much easier to use than the manual corkscrews, after cutting the foil just center the opener over the cork and press the button. The corkscrew will seat itself down into the cork then it will pull the cork right up out of the bottle, just hold on tight to the bottle or the bottle will spin getting you nowhere. When you press the reverse button the cork unscrews itself from the corkscrew and will plop right into your hand. If you like to save the corks then an electric opener helps you to remove the cork in better shape than manually removing, plus it's fun to use. My parents really like to drink wine. My dad even has one of those nifty wine racks and he stores all of his expensive bottles on it in the walk in pantry. He goes as far to keep it very “cool” so as not damage the wine, ensuring we close the pantry door as soon as we are done in there. So when I saw this automatic opener, I instantly thought- GIFT! After receiving the opener quickly and in good condition, I charged it up. However, be weary, this unit in particular came with a european charger. Thankfully, the cord that connects to the opener to charge is just a simple USB so I had a quick fix there. But that was unexpected and earns one star deduction. It comes nicely packaged and even has a foil cutter to get the foil off the cork. The opener charged up relatively quickly, and, with my timer at the ready, my dad hit the timer and pulled a cork out! It did pretty well, and its little blue light illuminated the top of the bottle (I thought this was a neat feature). It took about 9 seconds to remove the cork and 13 seconds to remove the cork, then take it off of the opener corkscrew. The form factor is nice, with a see through area to see the cork being removed, and the light, as I mentioned, is also a nice touch to the opener. All in all it seems to be a decent product and removes corks easily. I received this product on a promotional discount for my honest review and they are 100% my own opinions.
