For the price it's a no brainer - detachable mount very useful
Safety wise, for children bike lights are a must. If I had my way I'd send my kids out with Tron outfits on - just too many idiots playing with their mobile phones on the roads.Firstly loved the price - with the lightning deal I picked this set up for 6.10 plus tax - that is soundly in the "worth a chance,....what do you have to lose?" territory. So even though I bought this some time ago, I only yesterday mounted it on my child's bike, along with a Vont Pyro USB rechargeable light I had just bought that I mounted for my other child's bike. They're both sub 10 years old and really traveling far on bike so getting lights on bikes is the no brainer necessary thing to do. Part of my commentary comes from a comparison between this and the vont pyro.Mounting SystemThe biggest item for me is the mounting system. The BV bike set has mounts that can be fixed in place and the lights can be clipped on or off pretty simply. It's true that the front light takes a little fidding to remove the light from the mount, but once you do so, it's a defacto torch (RoW English name for flashlight). My youngsters would have a little trouble mounting / demounting - there's a reason I gave this to the eldest. So it's very capable - leave the mounts in place, and if it's really dark you have a torch to illuminate your path up the driveway. The mounts are sufficient for my needs - sure they're plastic and seem ok but if I were a competitive mountain biker, you'll need something more rugged mount wise.By comparison the Pyro lights have rubber band like connectors that wrap around your handlebar and seatpost. MUCH more difficult to put on and off and here's the kicker - you need to do this often because there is no separate mount - the pyro lights are effectively LED lights with a clip at the back and the rubber band goes under that clip. Not at all child friendly but some nice bright lights once on and USB recharegeable.BatteriesBack to the BV lights - they're not rechargeable - in the front you have a pack of 4x AAA (aka "triple A") batteries. In the back you have 2x AAA. You could argue that I could use rechargeable AAA batteries with the lights, and I would if it were for me, but my children LOSE EVERYTHING - rechargeable batteries are not cheap. So the Pyro wins out there.Light IntensityCompared with the Pyro the FRONT LIGHT of the BV is easily brighter. The pyro is good enough but seriously the BV is enough to burn your retina out ("It burns! It burns!") - again reinforcing its use as a torch when you get to your destination.Flip to the rear light though and the Pyro is slightly, only slightly brighter than the BV but the pyro is also I think wider with 3 separate lenses making it more visible. Not much in it though.Overall value: At the price I paid ( $6.10 plus tax) I think it's a great deal. The front torch dual use is of real value and the much easier ability to mount / unmount really helps - you put your mounts on (you'll need a Philips screwdriver to tighten it up) and that's it - leave the mounts in place. Can't comment on the battery life. Can say that even if it's 20 hours, I don't care - I'll put in new batteries and the kiddos can be on their way.hthDingo

A good buy
Absolutely a good buy and I am actually buying again for my new bike. The light works great and bright, it's water resistant and good quality. Mounts easy as does the tail light. The design is slick and looks good. Well worth the investment.

Value But Good Quality
Really surprised by the quality and amount of light at such a low price point. They are nowhere near the brightness of the $30-$100 bike lights, but this $10 light package is well made and put out more light than expected.Front White Light | The strobe mode is bright enough to be visible to cars while riding at night. Reflective street signs will pick up the strobe at 100+ yards ( ~ meters). Switch to steady light mode and it’s enough light to ride along partially lit paths or at dusk.Cons | Front Light | unfortunately I do not find this light bright enough to really see potholes and issues in the path in front of you when riding in complete darkness. My friend mounted two of these to his bike and that seems to work great, but one light doesn’t put out enough light to see smaller objects at a distance, essential unless you are riding slowly.Back Red Light | Good brightness for the price (essentially $5). I recently upgraded to a $20 tail light and it is 4x brighter, but also 4x the price. But this $5 tail light is really great, and I still use it as an extra bag light.

Good value for the money
Both items work and fit my bike well. Head light is bright enough to see on paths at night. Good value for the money.

Great light
Great little light. Very inexpensive but works fantastic. I got one a year ago and have been using it, liked it so much I bought another one for my wife.

Decent quality for the money. Good temporary solution for people who don't plan to ride at night
The front and rear lights attach very easily to the handle bar / seat post. They are secure if installed correctly, and are simple to operate. However, the lights are not going to make you easy to see and -- if you plan to be on your bicycle at night (especially on highly trafficked roads) -- I strongly recommend you purchase a much more powerful light system. It could save your life. The rear (red) light has a button that requires very little force to press. It cycles through 3 presets: Full on, rapid blink, and one LED lighting up left to right. The light seems bright enough to be seen from a short distance away. Given its location under the seatpost, I would not rely on this light to protect me from fast, heavy vehicles approaching quickly from a great distance. At a minimum, I would place this light on the rear of my helmet for greater visibility. With this rear light, I wouldn't ride my bike in the dark on a road with traffic going more than 30 mph. I would not feel safe. The front (white) light allows me to see about 15 - 25 yards in front of the bike. The further I point the light forward, the more difficult it becomes to see directly in front of me.It is simple to remove the front light and use it as a flash light. For this use it is excellent for a short distances. On local streets, with a low speed limit, I think these are a good temporary solution, since I don't ride often in the dark. For those occasions when I get home later than planned, I have these lights to get me back safety.Nonetheless, I am looking for a much more visible light that will help drivers see my bicycle in the dark. The consequences of being less than prominent in a driver's field of vision can be serious and permanent.

I highly recommend this light set.
I've had this for about a year and it's still as good as new. The strap to hold the light in place fits on any bike I have and it works well in rain too! The brightness works well at night because it's very wide. It illuminates in front of me and on the road and sides of the road. Just remember that if the light starts to get dim, then it means you have to change the battery.
