Champion Sports Playground Ball

As a Cub Scout leader, I always keep a ball, frisbee and a few other things like that in my truck. I had a 12 or 14 inch playground ball which got brought into my house, and apparently my cat found it. I found it the next day flat, pumped it up and could hear the air leaking out of the holes. That one went in the trash and I went to Amazon to shop for a new one. Saw this 16 inch and while I knew it was bigger, what the heck. Give 20 kids a big ball and they will soon start playing soccer, or kickball, or some kind of kick it against the wall game. This is not a "regulation" 4 square ball, if there is such a thing, but kids have fun trying to play with this. Much bigger than a regulation kickball, or soccer ball, but with smaller kids, who cares. They have fun and that is all that matters. Hopefully this one will stay away from the cat and last until my kids are out of scouts.

Bought this for my 10 year old who uses it to play 4 square at school. You can feel that it is a little heavier than a similar ball you would pick up at walmart, target or toys r us. We've had those before and they last a few months before having a slow leak or deforming. We've been careful not to overinflate the ball so it has not been deform tested, but it's nice and round with plenty of air to give it a good bounce. My daughter notes that she likes that ball has a lot of grip. Also that the ball has a nice simple graphic as opposed to some of the large splash images on most balls. Plus the fact that you can get this ball in a number of colors.May 10, 2015This ball is still going strong. It's not used as much as it used to, but when we do, the ball is still bouncy, and no lopsided. We've had to add air only twice. Two times! It's not as grippy any more and it has the typical fine cracks of any ball. The key on this and any other rubber ball is to never overfill it. That leads to the ball going out of round. This ball has been stored inside or at least out of the weather. That promotes the longevity being holding air. Sitting in cold through the night and sun during the day can increase the drying of the rubber, which leads to deeper cracking. This will not make every ball perfect, but with the better quality of this ball and those practices, I think has led to longevity and lack of problems with this ball. I still give this ball 5 stars. This "sports playground ball" is not even round. It is kind of an irregular egg shape. The young kids had some fun with it as it rolls and bounces pretty unpredictably. Now the novelty seems to have worn off. Basically it is junk. I would not purchase from this company again.

At under 8 bucks I would not expect this to hold up to the rigors of an adult kickball game. For me it serves the purpose of a ball for my little ones to kick, bounce and throw in the back yard and if it gets left out (which it often does) or gets lost (which has happened in the past) its easy and economical to replace.Note that it comes deflated which I did not see stated in the description so you will need a pump and a needle. I don't know the technical terms but I have a bicycle pump and a standard needle which worked just fine.

It seems like it will be a great ball and last, but after a few weeks sitting in a covered toy box I found both that I bought with tiny tears/cracks that caused both balls to leak. I threw both away and learned another lesson about trying to save money. And this was not due to over inflation, and one of the balls was used one time and then stored. These are nowhere near what I recall using as a kid and were a waste of money. Buy one of the other more expensive ones.

Purchased as a part of a Halloween costume, but I keep it at work for random acts of dodgeball. It bounces well and makes the delightful ringing noise when it hits the floor, walls, ceilings, and faces.

No quality control. This ball has a large gash. Not all the way through but enough so that it will not last very long at all. When pumped up it is not round. Very poor quality. Not pleased with this product.

I've used a lot of balls of different sizes from this brand, and the overall quality is pretty disappointing. If you only need one ball, make sure you buy two, because there's an excellent chance that one will develop a slow leak or pop during use. They also deform quickly. I make sure to follow the instructions and air the ball up over 2-3 days and I still experience problems. These balls just don't stand up to normal wear and tear like balls made by other companies that I've used in the past.
