Illegible instructions On The Bottle.
The rennet arrived in a plastic screwtop bottle on which was a label so well-worn the instructions were illegible. You also get a small printed sheet with a recipe for plain white cheese. The recipe specifies 3-5 drops of rennet per litre of milk. This didn't work for me even though I waited the recommended two to three hours. Their suggestion of repeating the process didn't work either. I had a second attempt used citric acid and 3ml of rennet to 3.5 litres of milk. That worked. 3ml is considerably more than the suggested amount of 15 drops, which didn't even register on my digital scale. The rennet itself is easy to use and has no intrusive taste in the finished cheese. It isn't an animal rennet so it's suitable for vegetarians. Just don't use the seller's recipe.
