This allows me to quickly turn on or shut off my wireless Apple Carplay adapter without having to fumble trying to insert and take out the USB connector from the dash. Just place the switch usb into the car's USB jack and the other female end into the wireless adapter and you are all set. It takes up little room by the dashboard and makes connection and disconnection of the wireless adapter a breeze. Just click the switch!

One of the "unique" features of the infotainment system in my 2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide is that in order to get my Samsung phone to start Android Auto, I must connect it to the system after it has booted up. Prior to this, I had the phone on a handlebar mount and simply plugged in the USB cable after the radio was up and running. This worked fine but left the phone out in the weather. After having the phone shut off due to high temperature while mounted on the handlebar, I wanted to extend the interface cable to the tour pak (trunk for you non-Harley types!). The problem was the requirement to connect the phone after the infotainment system booted up.This switch was the solution. Mounting the switch in the media pocket, protected from weather, I connected it between the USB interface and extension cables. This allows me to disconnect the phone before starting the bike; simply reaching into the media pocket and flipping the switch to "On" allows the phone to start Android Auto and connect to the bike.If I had one criticism, it's the size of the switch. However, it may require the relatively huge housing depending on how many of the USB conductors it's switching so no points off for that.Bottom line, it works.

A little bulky considering the short cables so make sure you have space to grab onto the swtich. Otherwise, it does exactly what it's supposed to do with the on off function. This toggle switch is much better than the push button ones out there.

This is a review of the Cable Matters USB on/off switch 2pk.My car doesn't support wireless Carplay, so I bought a USB adapter which lets me connect to the car's infotainment system via WiFi. But when I turn off the car and leave, the USB port is still powered up and leaves my phone connected to the car even when I've walked into my home hours ago. So I would typically unplug the adapter and that would terminate the connection. But I worry that the plug/unplug cycle is going to wear out the jack on the car. But I was also worried that a cheap on-off switch wouldn't support the high-speed data transfer needed for a Carplay adapter. Turns out this switch does an amazing job. I get fewer dropouts (actually, ZERO dropouts) with this inline than with some of the more robust direct cables I've used.If I need more switches like these, I'll buy these again in a heartbeat!

This switch works well for a USB video camera / microphone and also a wireless trackball. These were the main items I wanted to be able to turn on and off. I had tried others that did not work for these items, so they are not all created equal! Apparently, some do not connect all the USB wires.I am very happy with this purchase. :-)
