What is great with this mic is that it doesnt pick up the surrounding noise, only your voice

i bought a cord for a dslr cam and it hasn't worked for me .

Q: Does this work with a canon t6 dslr? If it doesn't, is there a cord to purchase that you would recommend?

The only port on the mic is for an XLR cable.

Q: How do you turn this mic on and off? Like when you are not using, for people who use it for on the "street and go" type of situation

Waist of money. No instructions on how to use. I was never able to use it. I ended up buying a comica mic for live broadcasting.
