Brief and to the point
I enjoyed this brief book about the Orphan Train movement. It was an enjoyable short read. Accurate information as read by a direct descendent. All 6 of my Aunts and Uncles rode the train to Washington co. Arkansas in 1912. They were the Mischlers from Brooklyn, NY.

YES! Yes this did really happen.
I gave it four stars only because the eBook layout wasn't the best, but this didn't stop me from reading it from cover to cover. I only wished it had even more details on some of these children lives. I wish it had included some information on Boston, where children relocation started out before Mr. Brace came along. Worth the read, especially if you have ancestor's that experienced this.

Interesting
This book was an eye opener for me. Did not know this part of our history. Would have liked it if book had been a little longer and gone into the history of more children.

Was an interesting reading on orphans and how they travelled from the East to the West. And how it saved the lives of many that would have otherwise died.

Too short
There are so many stories to discover out there about Orphan Train children. Maybe we waited too long to interview them. There's a gathering every year in Kansas I believe.

Another side to the story
Enlightening. Readers of the Orphan Train should be awAre of the positive side of this movement as well .

Four Stars
Very interesting, and unknown history within the US. I couldn't put it down. Depressing.
