A steam train that actually has safe steam coming out.
The 3 year old grandson loves this train. He first saw it on a YouTube video and was fascinated by the smoke/steam. He loves playing with it, but is a bit unsure about collecting and putting the water in, but once it gets going he’s happy.Why did you choose this product over others?:The steam effectBuild quality:Very goodBattery life:Depends on the make of battery

Excellent Value and Quality.
Rarely give 5 stars: but this is a solid little train that my, discerning, 2 1/2 year old grandson loves. Runs on 2 AAA batteries that last well. Great pulling power on standard wooden rails for such a small item- and also runs, slowly, on flat carpets. The little boy loves squeezing small amount of water into the filler next the funnel (and everywhere else). It sends up realistic little puffs of "steam" and amazingly there is no heat anywhere. Maybe produced by condensed air? No heat anyway.

On button MUST be held for 2 seconds
We ordered the train for our son's third birthday. After fitting batteries, the train worked for 5 minutes and then wouldn't come back on. We ordered a replacement and exactly the same thing happened. Thinking it was a faulty batch from Amazon, we did some googling to purchase another elsewhere only to find that someone had mentioned that it takes 2-3 seconds of a 'press and hold' to turn the train on. Both the original train and the replacement train work perfectly once you know to hold the button down. I don't know why Brio haven't mentioned this in the instructions clearly, but I am sure that the plethora of negative Amazon reviews are related to this one simple fact that is required to make it work! The train is really great and a lot of fun when used with a tunnel.

Failed after only a few uses over 3 months.
Looks great. However after 3 months, of occaisional use, it has stopped working. Too late to return

Reasonably priced and quality
Bought this train for our 4 year old grandson who is train mad ! I think it is a little pricey but the price reduction helped to make up my mind to purchase . He loves the steam effect in particular and the train is quality built . He plays with it a lot so we are pleased with our buy .

Great train
Excellent addition to my grandsons track. Very easy to use once you learn that you need to hold the start button down until the lights come on!

Absolute bargain on amazon. Looks awesome. Great to play with. Goes fast! battery lasts well and it’s not noisy
