I got this for my son's lacrosse team, so they could blast music at practice. They also use it on the bus going to games and on the sidelines before games to get hyped up. They're loving this powerful little speaker. Their coach especially loves the microphone that it came with. It's perfect for calling all the boys off the field during practice. It's exactly what they needed. When I started looking for a speaker, I wasn't sure which size and wattage to get. I wanted to get them something lightweight, but that had good sound and didn't need a power source. This covers all of my wants. It hardly weighs anything and is extremely portable. It has wheels so you can use the extendable handle to pull it behind you or there is a hand hold on the top of the unit for carrying it. I love that the unit is rechargeable. Now we don't have to worry about having a power source available. Mine arrived charged and ready to go, which was really nice. The battery lasts between 2.5-3 hours, which is plenty for what they need. It has a battery level indicator, so you always know when you need to recharge. I heard it at practice last week and was surprised at how much power is packed into this one little speaker. The 12" subwoofer and 1" tweeter put out really good sound. There are multiple ways to play music with the different input options. There are USB flash drive & micro SD readers, so you can play music like you would from a MP3 player. You can connect an aux cord and attach to an external device, like your laptop. Or the easiest way is to pair it with your phone through Bluetooth and stream all your music from the apps on your phone. I didn't realize this model had LED lights, so we were surprised and excited when we were playing with buttons and they turned on. The boys are absolutely loving this speaker and it's worth every penny. I loved this one so much that I bought the 15 inch model for my house. I can't wait to use it at our next movie night.

I bought this speaker because it has some important features that the Ion brand does not have - readable USB and SD Card capabilities. We have the Ion Game Day Lights and the Ion Party FX which are both built like tanks and have crystal clear and clean sound. However, the Ions lack USB and SD Card reader capability which I need at the office. The battery life of the Ions deteriorate quite rapidly over time as well. I decided to try the Pyle PPHP1242B model because it was loaded with the features I could use at the office (Wheels, telescopic handle, LED lights, speaker stand ready, USB/SD card reader) and I have a good amount of Pyle professional DJ equipment. Unfortunately, the sound quality was so atrocious on this particular Pyle that I immediately reboxed it and sent it back. I will stick with my Ions and figure out a way to change their sealed lead batteries and how to use an external SD Card reading device with them. The Ions sound deep, clear and rich. This Pyle sounds like a mouse on an exercise wheel. Very disappointing!

There are things that I like about this speaker and things that I don't, I have the 12 inch version, 800watts. The lights are cool, the connectivity is great... I mainly use it with my USB mp3 player. It is great as a PA system and very loud for that, but for music it really needs a built in amp for the bass. There is also some electric noise aka white noise in the line input and usb inputs. If you are using this inside of the house, you can use acoustics to enhance it, like a room with carpet, a corner to make the bass deeper etc.. but if you are using it outside like I primarily do, you'll end up with a whole lot of treble and very little bottom end. I think my next move is to get the 15 inch with built in amp. I also think this is good for the price. Know what you want before you buy, do the research.

Great speaker light weight

Size is great. Accessories cool. Sound is disappointing. Not great at bass or a good balance of sound. Ok for the price.

This speaker has great sound and volume. We've used it out on the patio and it stayed charged all day. Then when the battery died we simply plugged it into electric outlet and continued to play our favorite music. So far this is a great product. Kathy

My 14 year old son has gotten so much use out of this. We bought it for him several months ago and he loves it. He loves that it’s portable. The bass is pretty unbelievable for something this size.

Great sound

Terrible sound quality. Bad volume. Looks nice but did not match expectations.
