After a learning curve I find the paddles very useful. It tells your hand when and how to enter or exit the water. Great product !

I swam an open water lake race and improved my mile from an hour to 15 minutes (assisted division), and decreased my arm size by 1/4 inch in two weeks. These are a little hard to get used to because they really work your arms. Within two weeks I used them in a race without any issues and loved them. I'm a swimmer who goes no where fast, but when I combine these with flippers (speedo long), I get moving and usually lap the more serious swimmers in the pool. I'm also using them to get a better workout, and look better in cocktail dresses. They are definately good for that. If you stick with them, you'll see definition in your arms pretty quickly if you swim about a half or mile every day. I love them. They've held up well and they don't warp in the warm sun in your car. They are the most awesome paddles I've used for the strokes I do (BUDS, freestyle, side stroke).

When it came time to get serious in the pool I turned to Finis for many of their great products. Each of these have been integral to me making progress in the pool overall and at helping increase the intensity at the same time. These hand paddles are my least frequently used (I also own the Freestyle and Agility paddles). They are great at what they are designed for, keeping your pull strong. The cumbersome rubber tubing to keep them on your hands took a bit to get used to. All that being said I would still recommend these to anybody who is looking to correct some inefficiencies in their stroke.
