An Essential Soft Plastic for Bass Fishing
The Gary Yamamoto 5" SENKO BLACK W/ BLUE LAMINATE #317** is a must-have in any bass anglerโs tackle box. Its simple yet effective design and lifelike action make it one of the most versatile and productive soft plastics Iโve ever used.Pros:Versatile and effective: The 5" SENKO is incredibly versatile and can be rigged in multiple ways, including wacky, Texas, and weightless rigs. Iโve had great success fishing it weightless, letting it slowly sink and flutter in the water column. Its subtle yet realistic fall is irresistible to bass, and Iโve found it works in both clear and murky water.Lifelike action: What sets the SENKO apart is its unique density and design, which gives it a lifelike action even with minimal movement. When rigged weightless, it has a slow, natural fall that mimics a baitfish or worm, triggering reaction bites from bass. The soft texture also makes it easy for fish to hold onto the bait longer, increasing your hookup ratio.Durable yet soft: Despite being soft and flexible, the SENKO holds up well to multiple catches. While soft plastics tend to wear down quickly, Iโve been impressed with how many fish Iโve caught on a single worm. The material is durable enough to last several casts and catches, but soft enough to maintain that all-important lifelike action.Great color combination: The Black with Blue Laminate (#317) color scheme is one of my favorites, especially in low-light conditions or stained water. The contrast between the black and blue creates a profile that bass can easily spot, making it particularly effective in cloudy or murky waters.Overall Experience:The Gary Yamamoto 5" SENKO is hands down one of the most effective baits Iโve ever used for bass fishing. Its versatility and lifelike action make it perfect for a variety of fishing situations. Whether youโre targeting shallow or deep water, the SENKOโs slow, natural fall triggers bites when other baits donโt. The Black with Blue Laminate color has been a game-changer for me, especially in low-visibility conditions. While itโs a bit more expensive and can wear out after a few catches, the results speak for themselves. This bait consistently catches fish and has earned a permanent spot in my tackle box.Tips for Use:Try different rigging methods: The SENKO is highly versatile. Try using it weightless, wacky rigged, or Texas rigged, depending on the fishing conditions. The different rigging methods can produce a variety of actions, which helps adapt to what the bass are biting on that day.Use O-rings for wacky rigging: To extend the life of your SENKOs when wacky rigging, use an O-ring. This helps prevent the worm from tearing when you set the hook and makes your bait last longer.Fish it slow: The real magic of the SENKO is in its subtle, natural fall. Donโt rush your retrieveโlet it sink slowly, and the action will do the work for you.

My goto lure.
Best worm for bass I have found. I know it doesnt need to be said, but the watermelon color is the goto for waters I dont know and do know. If I want to check for bass in a pond this is where I start. Pair with a bass hook and you dont even need a weight to cast far. That most fish per lure iv probably ever seen!

These Worms Catch Bass!
I picked up the 5โ Gary Yamamoto Senko in black and decided to rig it up Texas-style on my first trip out. On my third cast, I hooked into a solid bassโthese things flat-out work! The plastic is soft, which makes them super easy to rig. The downside is they donโt last very long since they get chewed up quickly, but honestly, thatโs just proof the fish canโt resist them. Iโll definitely be buying more and plan on trying different colors as well. If youโre looking for a reliable soft plastic that gets bites fast, this is it!

Best lure there ever was or will be for โjust goin fishinโโ
Hands down the ol yamamoto senko is a classic - whatever the application, this is just one of those lures that canโt be beat and is a great โgo-toโ in nearly any situation. I typically wacky rig these bad boys - sooo even with an O-ring/wacky tool, they donโt last so long as Iโd wish, and they are a bit pricey compared to other stick baits, but man do the fish love em! Hard to beat and definitely catch more than Yum Dingers or Zooms but definitely wish they were cheaper- usually save purchasing these for paychecks when Iโve got a good amount of overtime lol!

Best worm out there
This rubber worm serves as my primary fishing lure when no other bait is effective. Its effectiveness in catching bass is consistently demonstrated. Despite the ridicule it often receives due to its color, the bubble gum color proves to be highly effective and exhibits remarkable action in the water, regardless of the fishing rig employed.

My โGo-Toโ Lake and Pond Bait
Always a top option when fishing lakes for big Bass. I recommend a Texas jig setup, and in the summer months when the water is clear, dark pumpkin and black are your go-to colors for shoreline and foliage. When fishing ponds, whether small or large, I tend to go with anything that has a red flake. Bass love them! They hold up well on multiple fish, far better than other brands.
