Hands down one of my new favorite books. Waited years for it to come out after reading the first two and I have to say it was worth the wait. Loved the characters and the story.

A gripping read!
Catherine Banner has written a fantastic end to a brilliant series. It was a long wait for this last book to come out, six years in total, but it was worth it. The Heart at War follows the journey of Harlan North from a tiny baby right into his twenties. As a young child, Harlan knows he is special. He can remember things that happened to him in the very early years of his life and he is the last person left with powers. At just eight days old, he and his family are fleeing Malonia, their home, after imperialists invade the city. They become exiles and try to adapt to a new life on Holy Island. Harlan and his family are a danger to the new government who constantly seek his downfall. You quickly sink into the world Catherine has created and it becomes a very real place. If you enjoy fantasy, you will definetly enjoy this book.
