This review is about the FIRST GRADE MATH PACK - that comes with two pallets and six packs of math card work.I read about the Pallete system on a homeschooling listserve. (Do we still say listserve?) And immediately bought the kit for my six year old hyper-diaper who won't sit still long enough to work on the SIMPLEST of math drills.I thought it would be great for him - lots of colors - chips - easy operational concept and challenging but not crippling - a great way to review the 1st grade math drills. He won't even look at it. Ughhhhh $80 down the drain.I bought the big utility kit that comes with two pallets and six different packages of cards. And my gifted five year old LOVES doing these and will sit and do four or five of them in a row. NOT THAT SHE NEEDS any work on her math drills - the other child does!So - ultimately - the child that did NOT need this product - loves it and uses it. The child that REALLLLY needs it won't look at it.It is very well made, lots of bright colors and the concept is fairly brilliant. It is a good product, a really great idea and easy to use, once you get the hang of it. I think the company should put up a YOU TUBE video showing how to use it though, because I was under the impression that you just kind of flip the whole thing over to check your work- and you only flip the card over. Once you understand that, your home free!I love to check out ideas and new things for the kids for supplemental work - so if you have the $$ to gamble on - give it a try - it is a solid product.
