Time saver and very accurate.
Great tool, bought because I had a lot of baseboard to install and the floor is not perfectly flat in places. Just set the height to the largest gap and scribe the baseboard then cut for a perfect fit. Super easy to use. Very practical size and functionality allows for the smallest of gaps. The lead is flat and records a thin line on the material to be cut that is easy to see.

Save your money, choose this one
Easy to use, very precise when you get used to. Bought several hundred dollars worth of scribers to use on a large frameless job, and this is by far the best!!

Easy to use compact and adjustable.
Good quality and adjustability. Fits in a tool belt just great. Non standard lead is sometimes difficult to extend as needed for additional marking. Over all very satisfied after a few years of use.

Very Handy - with some modifications
I am a professional finish carpenter. This is a very handy scriber, and a nice addition to my collection. Collection because there is no one scriber that can do everything. I am using this to scribe baseboard to a hardwood floor, and I need a high level of accuracy to do this. Client and company does not use shoe mold, or scribe trim of any kind. Everything must look like it grew together. This scriber performs well. It doesn't work well for scribing something to a natural tile or stone. It's too long for that. Scribing to hardwood floors, walls, counter top etc it's great. I made one modification to it (I'm always tinkering with my tools to make them work better for me) I added two layers of teflon tape (plumbing supply) to the threads of the adjustment wheel. It now takes a bit of force to turn it, and it stays put in and out of my nail pouch. Pencil leads last a long time, but are a pain to extract. Don't over tighten the locking nut. It'll break the lead. So far very happy with this.

Decent, but very much flawed.
It works well, but it is flimsy. Turning the adjustment knob makes the plastic body flex so much that it nearly pops apart. To fix this, I took the two halves apartment and super glued them back together. Now at least the tool doesn't flex like crazy. Also, before using the scribe after each adjustment, you have to press downward on the pencil arm and remove any slack- if you don't, it will likely move while in use. Definitely very annoying.

Works well
Works as intended. Precision is good enough for trim work. Slides easily on surfaces, intuitive and effortless to use! Doesn't look too sturdy so don't drop it.

Worked like a charm...
So read all the not so positive reviews but it looked like it was exactly what I needed to scribe the cabinet stiles, so took a chance. Don't know why some other folks had issues, but I found it to perform exactly as advertised and worked out perfectly for me. I found the quality more than acceptable, though a tad pricey. And a bonus for me was that it was not made in China. Item is made in Great Britain! If say if you need to scribe along a wall or floor, you won't find a better tool...WAY easier and more accurate than a common compass scribe!

Great concept; junk execution; almost worthless
I've gone through three of these devices before I realized that they're a cheaply made version of what was likely an excellent prototype. The first one I received had a significantly convex base, so the whole thing would rock up and down unless you exercised extra-special care in holding it onto the surface you scribe. To their credit, Trend's US dealer sent me another one at no charge eventually. But the second one's adjustment screw would bind after opening up only about 1/4", rendering it unusable. I still held out hope, so I tried buying once more, having yet to receive a product functional enough to try on a real job. My third Easy Scribe had a flat base and the adjustment screw worked smoothly. So I tried to use it and found, as many others have reported, that the slightest operational pressure on the arm that holds the proprietary pencil lead causes it to wiggle up and down with respect to the base. Surprised, I found that I could easily move it up and down more than 1/4"! Utterly useless. (Applying pressure directly to the pencil arm seems clearly to be the most logical and intuitive way to hold the tool.) Here's the kicker: I have decided to keep it and use it for now! Pro Tip: You must not even touch the pencil-holding arm when you grip the tool. If you do, the arm will readily deflect and give you a meaningless scribe line. But if you grip the tool carefully WITHOUT touching the arm, and also reference it ONLY off the end of the metal guide blade, rather than against the entire allegedly flat base, the tool can work as advertised and is very handy for smooth scribe lines, e.g. where a countertop meets a wall or baseboard meets a floor, etc. I wouldn't buy this product again due to the ridiculously poor quality. That said, the design is stellar, and I would gladly pay even more for a version properly manufactured to eliminate the need for such virtuoso care in use.

Looks good but not used yet
This was purchased for a Christmas present so I do not know how it will work. It looks good and was delivered very quickly. Happy to purchase from this buyer again.

Light weight yes....Accurate and functional Yes
Some say "cheap flimsy plastic ", not worth the money. All depends on your application and skill with tools I suppose. I was taught the old way on the veryvlast City and Guilds carpentry course. Any tool that makes to job better, quicker and more accurate, is in my opinion good enough. The fact that is light weight is a bonus, how you use and apply its use is in the skill of the user. Very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend in skilled hands or those who can apply themselves to the job. There are a few good Utube videos on its correct use. Well worth checking them. Well recommend 👌

Buena herramienta de trazado, pero preferiría que fuese toda metálica.
Bastante práctica para marcado, pero el cuerpo de plastico me ha decepcionado bastante.
